question ----- how much time did u take to make this???? and why did u do this on a nearly perfect server ?????go on extremecraft to post such topics ok heres the message lol Hello again GuildCrafters, Took me a long time contemplating whether to release this email to the public. After all, I am sure there are those who would wish for this to just stay within the staff team. Yet, to embrace the spirit of transparency, I would choose to believe it is only right for the public to indulge in what has been sent to the staffs 3 days ago. Some have chosen to ignore it, some have chosen to report it but comfortingly, a number of staffs have replied positively. No doubt, there will be those who disapprove of this, but to solve a problem is not to run but to face it. And like it or not, only through confrontation with those issues can we see the birth of resolution. It has also come to my attention that some are still unclear as to what specific problems I have been attempting to raise. For those with the patience, for those who still care for the server and for those whom it may concern, this message below should double up as a little clarification and perhaps, some food for thought. Enjoy. ---Start Of Message To Staffs--- Greetings Staffs, I offer my sincerest apologies for interrupting the busy schedules of what I presume, fill your daily lives. Allow me however, to take up a little of your time for it is with great honor, that I hold a conversation with the team behind this server. 5 days ago, a message was sent out to the community, in it containing controversial issues that has since sparked many discussions within the community. I know, the message has offended some of you and it is at this point that I would like to express my thanks to each and everyone of you, for allowing the discussions to carry on and for keeping me alive, despite the evident criticism that came along within the message. I must admit, I was pleasantly surprised by the generosity shown by the team this time. Though, what left me astounded, were the replies I received from a handful of you within this staff team. And it was within these replies that I found hope, hope that we could all see some collaboration and hope that there could be a common resolution. You see, disagreements do not necessarily have to end with merciless bloodshed, for the option always remains open for the possibility of seeking compromises. Hackers, false mutes, false bans and abuses, these are several problems raised countless times by the community. Now do not get me wrong, I am not associating all of you with the above descriptions. Rather, I would like to admit that there are highly capable staffs within the team and that, I do not doubt. Yet, that does not mean I do not acknowledge the presence of these issues. For simplicity's sake, let us take for example, Annihilation, the server that has seen dissatisfaction from the community dating back to months ago. Despite the prevalence of threads raising up the issues on annihilation, it was apparent to the community that the situation has shown no improvements and in the eyes of many, worsened. Now I am not discounting the work and effort by the staffs, but the problems have dragged on for far too long with far too little results. Of course, the community can expect replies from staffs, claiming that actions are being done and plans being implemented. Yet, do not deny that apart from several of the higher staffs, the bulk of you here would receive little to no information about what is being planned behind the scenes. These claims of actions being taken are merely made with an intention to placate the community and justify the situation of the server. Why do I say as such? Because several staffs that I have spoken to, conversations end when it comes to this: http://imgur.com/a/YM9V9 (Names have been censored out of respect for the individual) The intention is not to blame, nor to point fingers, but rather to achieve a common acknowledgement on the issues on this server. I agree, these issues are not easy to tackle, but they are not without their solutions. If actions are indeed being taken, dedicate a post to address the players. Provide the community with reassurance through sharing your next course of action against these persistent issues. On the other hand, the worse that could be done is to dismiss these issues and lock all discussions for if you are seeking to improve, the community's frustrations will be your best guiders. It is these discussions that surface the issues of the server, problems in the perspectives of the players which would add value to bettering the server. Of course, threads seeking to flame, to troll or to be toxic should receive their due treatment, but threads made with an intention to feedback should never be discarded. This, would earn the team much more respect and support from the community. The next issue in line would be the response of the team, not just in terms of efficiency but also equality. Allow me to elaborate. This was a screenshot taken 2 days ago from your unban section on the forums: http://imgur.com/a/UFO24 Out of 20 threads per page, the page with the most number of 0 replies stood at 12 threads and the least stood at 6 threads. Bear in mind, these threads have sat there for days. I am uncertain as to what could be the reason, but this is definitely an area to work on if the team wishes to better their impression to the community and to portray an image of professionalism. Perhaps, if it is an issue with a lack of time and manpower, consider some reorganization within the team to have some specifically allocated for reviewing such threads? The help section sees similar issues. The number of views on those threads are way below the number of staffs on the server, and that is not taking into consideration non-staffs who are helping to answer questions. For the part on equality, it should come as pretty straightforward. Just a few days ago, a report was made against a staff member by Nikola, In the report, was a picture showing a staff breaking the rule of "Bad Sportsmanship" with the use of the word "ez". That staff knows what I am talking about we have spoken to each other. To the best of my understanding, the thread was moved within minutes and left at that. Yes, there might be warnings issued to the staff and such but if a staff member is going to be shown this type of mercy and leniency, then perhaps the players would deserve the same, no? We are now down to the one last area that is worth a small discussion. It might get a little sensitive but if you are indeed going to deal with the growing dissent on the server, there is a need to talk about the attitudes of staffs. I will proceed to list some of the negative traits and for whichever trait you feel offended by, congratulations you have identified your flaws. A few prominent ones players have raised would include: - Putting on an air of superiority - Preferential treatment - "Staffs are always right" - Refusal to listen Ever had yourself thrown these descriptions by the players? Touch your heart and ask, are you guilty of any of them? No? Good. If yes, do you still remember why you signed up to be staff? I certainly hope it was not with the intention to seize power or prestige. I need all of you to know, there is a widening gap between the community and the staffs, perhaps not prominent in-game but on the forums, this is a cause of concern. And I need all of you to know, that this gap cannot be narrowed without the participation of the staffs. A simple act of acknowledgement, empathy and understanding shown by the staffs can leave a strong impact on the views of the community and in time to come, your community will too learn to appreciate. For those of you guilty of it, do away with the air of superiority, speak not with the tone of a superior but with the concerned voice of a player. It is this interaction that will ultimately dissolve the growing dissent on the server. Of course, when dealing with strict issues like rule-breakers, exercise the necessary formality but never ever lose the understanding towards your players. I know this message has been littered with criticism, but I hope for them to be taken in stride. All of us make mistakes but like it or not, it is these mistakes that we hate who will help us to improve ourselves and this is only possible when we have the courage to acknowledge it. As such, I urge everyone to be brave in acknowledging their flaws, to be courageous in admitting to their mistakes and to be human, for making mistakes. Before ending off, I would like to highlight the importance of being respectful and professional with the use of words on players. http://imgur.com/a/HYQ5X (Names have been censored out of respect for the individual) "Retards" and "Kid" are words that do nothing more than to tarnish the image of staff members. As the staff mentioned in the screenshot, one should remain open to criticism. No hard feelings on anyone featured in my screenshots. It has been pleasant sharing this message with all of you and for those feeling uncomfortable with the unease in the community, here's a quote: After the rain there's a rainbow, After the storm there's a calm, After the night there's a morning, And after an ending is a new beginning. Thank you for taking the time off to read this. ---End Of Message To Staffs--- VoiceOfThePeople, Saturday at 5:07 PM
Did i just read "on a nearly perfect server"? Say what, young man. The server is getting worse and worse, not to offend anyone but... Rules are pretty harsh and too strict for my taste. Their autoban system is bad and innocent players get banned. I've gotten banned my self by a staff member but I wont discuss this here. The server is no where near perfect and I doubt it'll be anytime soon, I still enjoy it and will continue playing.
the autoban is the most useless thing made till now ..other server s are happy because they dont have auto ban and they have friendly staff ... i really miss extremecraft.net ...ADD more staff ADDD MNORE STAFF ADD MORE STAFF AND GOOD STAFF...
