So basically I love villagers, I just spend hours with them, I'm weird.

But unfortunately I can't seem to make more of them via Zombie Villager curing due to auto-lag-clear messing everything up and clearing it.

So I run on a system where I have a spawner, which is linked to a path to a railway line, which I use to catch zombie villagers, I then use a weakness pot and a golden apple on it, and then it begins to shake vigorously for the next 4-5 minutes.

This process roughly takes 5-10 minutes to find the perfect zombie and then another 5 minutes to cure it. So it might take 10-15 minutes. But 90% of the time it overruns as getting a villager zombie is fairly rare. Then auto clear mucks it up by destroying my villager zombie which I have just wasted 1.5k on (pot+gapple).

I was wondering if there was anyone as obsessed with villagers as I am who could help/advise me about howw to get round this and make it quicker or an alternative.

    Thanks,
    Jaguar

Don't it save if you name the zombie? Or that don't work since it can help it from despawning.

Do not waste a nametag on the zombie villager!
I tried this out on Semi-Vanilla (which has the same clear-lag plugin as survival), and I named the villager with a nametag, and the villager still de-spawned o_O

It's pretty much impossible to cure a zombie villager on this server unfortunately, but maybe, in the future (which would be nice to see), is an addition to the plugin, which makes clearlag ignore zombie villagers within x blocks of a player :D

Lol, I've managed to get 15 so far, but I'm struggling to get anymore, I've wasted quite a lot of pots and golden apples though

It's possible to cure a zombie villager if you start the process right after an entity-clear, it should be done in time before the next entity-clear. You're right when you say it's not that easy tho :)

Also could someone explain to me the rumour of a 9 villager limit per chunk? Some people say its there, some not. But yet I still have 15 villagers. Are they going to go soon?

Ah, glad I could help someone!

This is a plug-in currently on semi-vanilla and survival, and how the plug-in works, is that it it despawns, or deletes, all the entities of a certain type if there are more than 8 (this number is 15 for survival) entities of the same type, in the same chunk, until the entity count in that chunk is 15 or less. This problem is easily circumvented by transporting the villagers to a different chunk than the breeder is in! (a chunk is 16 by 16 by 256)

Currently, I have a villager farm on survival, and it maxed out at 15 villagers. When a 16th villager spawns in, one randomly selected (not necessarily the one that just spawned) despawns at the next entity clear, so make sure to transport villagers with good trades to a different chunk! From what you mentioned in you comment, your villager farm is maxed out at 15, just like mine!
