    Ultimate Guide for Semi-Vanilla

The are a lot of things to discuss regarding how to play Semi-Vanilla. Because Semi-Vanilla is almost normal minecraft I have a feeling that most of this information would be new to almost everybody.

A Short Paragraph to Lower Your Expectations

Ok, if you just joined the Semi-Vanilla I am going to give you a warning, it is VERY DIFFICULT to get OP stuff here. By this I mean, no spawners for sale, no elytras for sale, no OP gear for sale (at least in /shop). Every item needs to be earned by your work and not your money. Of course money is also important so you can buy items from other players, but you will mostly use it to buy claim blocks. There is also very little items that can be both efficiently farmed and that are sell-able. Of course all of the above stated does not include the auction house, but I don't think someone will be willing to sell their elytra.

Some Tips on How to not Starve

Anyway, before you do anything, keep in mind that PVP is enabled after you get past 1k blocks from spawn. Although people usually don't kill at sight like in factions, there can still be danger in the PVP zone. After you find a nice spot to set up your first base, mine some tall grass and get a little wheat farm going, you can also push some cows or sheep in a hole to later breed them. Plant your crops in alternating rows, if a wheat block has more than two wheat blocks at it sides it grows slower. If you already have wheat, an easy way to lead some animals in a hole is by placing trapdoors on the holes border and open them. Because animals consider open trapdoors as a block too, they will follow you in.

    Starting a Mine

Once you have a constant supply of food I would recommend to make a mine. You can either make a two by one hole and mine straight down, or you can make a staircase. Staircases are are faster to climb than ladders. Mine for some basic resources. It is recommended to mine on Y level 11 because lava lakes spawn at Y level 10, and it makes a huge difference of either mining a block and seeing lava flow towards you or mining a block and saying, "Oh, lava lake, let me grab my bucket, no need to worry". Regarding mining techniques it is recommended that you make one by two tunnels spaced three blocks from each other. To maximize efficiency you can also space your tunnels thirteen blocks away instead of three, and in the tunnels make a one by one tunnel each three blocks. If you see an ore in one of the one by one tunnels you can dig to it and take the ore. If you want to avoid falling into lava while tunneling, mine the down block before the upper block, that way you would see the lava and the upper block would prevent you from walking into it.

    Diamonds!

Congratulations! You found your first diamonds. What is the best way to use them? Make a diamond pickaxe. There is an enchantment table at spawn, make sure to do /sethome to set your players home which is the point to which you will always be teleported after typing /home. You may choose to create a party. To view information on how to use party commands type /party. After creating a party you can make a party home. The advantage of having a party home instead of a normal home is that you are teleported to the party home instantly, but to teleport to a normal home you have to wait five seconds. Anyway, after enchanting your pick-axe you can mine diamonds more efficiently!

    What to do Next

You stashes upon stashes of diamonds. What do you do now? I am not going to tell what to do step by step. Let your imagination flow! That what minecraft is about. You may choose to make the production of each single item in the game automatic, or build the most beautiful house in minectaft. Personally my choice was to create an empire and rule the entire Semi-Vanilla server. Your choice is yours.

I am working on mapping out the world(it's not that big, there's a plugin that limits walking distance to around 20K blocks). And then I am making the Minecraft Olympics. Tell me if you have any ideas for that.

Note: It is easy to get OP stuff, just pay and get ranks! Personally I don't, so it's still more or less vanilla for me.

Also, does someone have an Ocean Monument coordinates?
