After playing UHC for a bit, a feel like I have a lot to say; I'll try to say it in as few words as possible, however. Grace Period: Problem/Suggestion: I feel like the current grace period of 5 minutes is too short. Reason: Grace period is the time PvP is disabled, which allows players to prepare for the phase where PvP is enabled, by collecting the minimal resources for PvP. However, 5 mins is usually not enough to collect the minimal resources and prepare yourself for late game (getting apples and sugar cane + leather; finding an appropiate biome; decreasing coords to avoid border; getting enough food). In about 30 games of UHC, I have NEVER been able to do all of this before 5 minutes. Sometimes I will die as I have no materials and see a player w who does, and I can not put up a fight. Possible Solution: Increase the grace period to 20 minutes (this is usually the case for popular UHC servers, such as Badlion/Reddit Servers. I do not believe this an excessive suggestion as this will not require huge amounts of time and effort (I assume) Starter Food: Problem/Suggestion: I believe GC UHCs should allow the player to begin the game with some starter food. Reason: On multiple occasions, I have spawned in a "dead" biome (desert, mesa, ice plains) and I have been unable to collect food, so I eventually will run out of hunger, which is incredibly frustrating because I had a 0% chance of surviving that game. Possible Solution: Allow the player to begin with some food. Any food with decent saturation levels would be suitable, such as steak/pork. I also do not believe this an excessive suggestion as this will not require huge amounts of time and effort (I assume)
The only problem with having an extended grace period (which I am for) is that the more inexperienced players will resort to excess stalking (trying to drop sand/gravel on you, steal your ores, food, apples, benches, etc.) So if there is a way to increase the grace period and limit the trolling/stalking - I'd be for it.
