»Tweaking the "Account Sharing" rule?

Well, I have gotten perm banned for letting my brother use my account for a bit ("account sharing") and I have already made an unban request. But, I've also noticed that others have also received the same. So, I looked over the rules and personally I find some things odd. So here's my thoughts and ideas



Okay so what I understand you're not allowed to you're account with others. However, if you do and they don't break any rules... then why not? Could someone please explain what harm sharing an account does and how it exploits anything. Yes, I totally agree that the account holder himself should be responsible for any rule-breaking actions caused by others; but, if any rules have not been broken I don't see why not.

If you still don't understand what I'm trying to say here's an analogy to make things simpler. Okay, so think of it like you have a bank account, you let others share your account - which is perfectly fine right? However, if he steals your money or breaks any rules, for example adds stolen money in your account then the person who owns the account and let them share it should be responsible (which is stated in the current rules). Letting someone share accounts with you - puts yourself at responsibility. The thing that I think that should be tweaked on the rules is that the account should only be banned if the user breaks any rules.

And what I find most annoying is the fact that people get a 10 DAY BAN for hacking and I get a PERMANENT BAN for simply letting my brother use my account for a bit. It should be the other way around tbh xD

[Off topic] Don't reply when not involved, if you want a rule to be changed you may suggest this.

[On topic] You admitted to account sharing which is clearly explained in the rules that this is not allowed.

"Caught breaking rules" relates to the "punishment" on your account if it is there, it won't be lifted.
It does not relate to "You will be banned when you are caught breaking rules".
No, account sharing is ban-able eventhough you did not break any rules.

This is not directed to anyone, so I am going to repost the constructive reply that the other guy put, which has been removed :/ And I did suggest this... It's the Suggestions and Feedback section m8, I think you may have got it confused

[On topic] This has nothing to do with me, I'm suggesting a rule tweak on the SUGGESTIONS AND FEEDBACK. I am going to make a different post addressing how unfair some of these rules.

i agree with you @Havoc, in fact I tick the green check-mark like you said. I really dont understand why sharing accout is bad. I belive the punishment should be according to what Guildcraft rules are. For instance if the person that shares your account use modified client, the the account should be punish with the punishment for "Hack Client" not "Sharing Account"

P.S: What if someone uses 2 accounts? What will that be?

using 2 accounts is allowed. but if ur main account is banned/muted ur not allowed to go on another account - cus its banable as "Ban/Mute Evading"

 

The rule is now made more clear.

Let me clarify one thing. This rule is made against people sharing accounts for kits, power or an unfair advantage in any way. The hacking part is just an example. Having your friend logging in on your account once won't get you an insta ban but abusing it to get an advantage will.

I cannot write down every single example so it's just a clear DONT DO IT rule. Keep your account for your self, and if a friend comes over and plays on it don't worry this rule isn't made for that. We're not changing it in any way.

(Underlined in red) That's what I simply did, I let my brother on my alternative account once for a bit and he didn't abuse anything whatsoever; you've also stated that "Having your friend (in this case, my brother) logging in your account once won't get you an insta ban". However, I received a perm ban (I'm unbanned now - friend bought me an unban), therefore, I feel like I was banned unfairly.

Please let me know about this.
