This is somewhat of a temporary fix which I considered yesterday, what it does is basically redirecting whatever connection your PC makes to sessionserver.mojang.com to your localhost (127.0.0.1), which would give an error.
BUT....There is one critical downside to this, but doesn't affect joining cracked servers.
It blocks the WHOLE session server, meaning you can't join any premium servers once you do this.
The hosts file is unable to block just one sub directory, it'll block the whole domain.

I'll be uploading another way to bypass it without using forge OR blocking the entire session server in a day or two.

@Chicklet add https:// in front, MC tries to connect to the HTTPS site
Also, after 127.0.0.1 use TAB , not a space!

    # This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
    #
    # This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
    # entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
    # be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
    # The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
    # space.
    #
    # Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
    # lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
    #
    # For example:
    #
    # 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
    # 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

    # localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.
    # 127.0.0.1 localhost
    # ::1 localhost
    127.0.0.1 sessionserver.mojang.com
    127.0.0.1 54.192.10.40

    And this works for me.

Yeah i tried using forge. The tutorial should add recommending forge, and don't forget to set your profile to forge. After that its done! I got connected again :)

btw you cant put http:// or https:// in your HOSTS file
this is a valid HOSTS file:
    # Copyright (c) 1993-2009 Microsoft Corp.
    #

    # ::1 localhost
    127.0.0.1 sessionserver.mojang.com

(make sure to restart minecraft and/or your browser after saving the hosts file!)
(and something else: this doesn't block sessionserver.mojang.com, you just redirect all connections to 127.0.0.1 (your local machine)
    you can also do:
    192.168.178.1 sessionserver.mojang.com
    or
    192.168.1.1 sessionserver.mojang.com

It's better if they leave it as 127.0.0.1 because some people have different local it's.

You don't need forge for it to work. It should work without the use of any mods/
