»The 'New Rule' That was added.

We should have staffs that know how to speak different languages in different servers, and have them be seperated so those who are taking a granted know they're being watched Even though there's alot of post reporting people swearing in different languages, I disagree with the rule because people that don't speak English should be able to speak their language to friends or others that speak their language so they have the same experience and fun that we do in Guildcraft.

Well yeah I had the same thought as you phan but asy's reply makes sense. people can still talk in /msg or whatsoever and we wont have to get flooded by other languages in chat. maybe later on when people get used to this the rule could be removed and they could speak like a sentence in another language in public without getting muted but without flooding it too

 

Please do not give input if you make such a ridiculous comparison. Which is wrong, doesn't even represent the issue at hand and is simply ignorant. Those little kids who don't know english can start to use message, ally chat, faction chat, party chat and so on, there is no rule that we do not allow that.

When I was 8 I played Runescape and thought myself English, without education or whatsoever. It's not hard to look at a picture and see the word itself and learn the word. Then carefully looking at what other people say and how they use a sentence is not so hard. You do not need to be a genius at all to do this, it just takes interest in doing so. I've seen guys who are like 17 years old and their English is more horrible then mine when I was 9 years old. If someone does not want to learn English then that is their choice but it will not influence our server negatively. If people do know English and still wanna talk their own language I will happily give them alternatives to use to speak your own language to your friends.

English is mandatory for online gaming, whether you like it or not(except if you play native language only games). So you better get used to talking English.

 

I understand that you guys made this rule even tho I hate it that I cant speak dutch anymore on a durch server in public but ehmm think about this; Eggwars is 90% turkish, brazillian etc. Nobody speaks english there so what will you guys do now? Start a genocide and mute everyone on eggwars? Because thats the most popular server and I guarantee you, you will have to mute 90% of the players to enforce your new rule..Just saying

 

True, we also don't want english speaking players to feel left out because for example on skyblock majority of people who play there are Turkish speaking players, and the non- Turkish speaking players may feel left out. This rule is mainly promoting more English speaking players to get involved in the community.

EULA has hit the server pretty hard and if the server doesn't earn money, it'll eventually shut down. However, I had to steal this from @Tibo442 because he has a good point:

1) The players are mostly from Turkey that don't speak english

2) Less players = less lag

3) Less turkish players = not less money because paypal is blocked there anyway

They can use google translate to figure out what the staff member warned/muted them for, or they will eventually figure it out themselfs, it's not that hard..

Pretty shitty rule for them tbh, however, considering that this rule will encourage english speaking players to get invovled more, making them possible donators and staff members the only thing this rule does is benefit the server.

We can't force players to apply, to be a staff member you also need decent english, somthing that most spanish or turkish players don't have. Google translate is pretty inaccurate. I remember trying to help a spanish speaking player on potionpvp using google translate and he didn't understand what I was trying to say( AT ALL).

Why do you care if he is calling you something in SPANISH I mean it would only affect you if in case you understand that language and if that is the case report the player :/ as simple as that. Muting Turkish people isn't the answer though

That's reasonable but if the other person speaking the same language as the one who swore at them reported the swear, and if there was a 'Language' in the report format, it'd be easy for staff members to just google translate it..
Other than that, its not like every time someone turkish says something its instantly a swear xD

 

Well this point you just made is nonsense you don't make any point through this post you just make the point that every person can learn English if they want to. Even if you didn't make any point that show the positive aspects of this rule I will try to make you understand a little better

1. GC is the 2nd most played cracked server which means more people and diverse people. People who don't speak English also join the server.

2. Well I have been learning English at my school since I was in 1rst grade and well I have no problem in speaking English the problem is that I speak Hindi and of course I will be better at it than I am at English and I often use Hindi to find friends etc..

3. Most people come on GC to play with friends and servers like anni which are basically team games require chatting and if we are not able to chat then well... its not fun anymore for some people.

4. I am just saying for good of GC and for making it better because I myself play with my irl friends and with them I use hindi for multiple reasons

Some games like Eggwars don't have a /msg that people could use, and its a team based game, its doubtful if there was actually /msg, they'd msg everyone in the team, just to speak their language.

Here lolo says we dont want turkish people in GC because they make lag because they play (absolute nonsense, this is a cracked server for everyone to play in), and that the devs and aXed want to lower the population of GC so there's less lag, but here aXed himself says:

You really think we're going to reach 3.5k by banning half the population of GC?

And to the people who think this isnt racism and this is fair, dont even reply. I think its quite obvious banning a certain country is racist.

 

Also, to the people who are so offended when someone swears at them in a different language they dont understand, either
1. Report it.
2. Dont even give a damn because you don't understand what they're saying.
3. Deal with it.

Nearly all the people who agree with muting anyone that doesn't speak English in chat are people who know how to speak English, and wouldn't give one minute of their time to realize how ridiculous and unfair this is to Turkish players.

How would you feel if your country just got banned for no actual reason except that you played on GC? Fair right?

I'm not here for a rant but here is my opinion.

Let's say that there is a player who is able to speak 2 languages including English as his/her secondary language. And den, for some reason, he started raging... Despite speaking English in public chat, he swore random shit with his own language (which is most 8 years old kid do). People who know such language will get really irritated -> report on the forum. However, on the forum, no staff is even bothered to go on google translate and additionally, there are a few languages that they can't type on google translate. For instance, they can't 100% copy the letters from Japanese language and such, which then result in their inability to understand dem meanings -> no mute. I won't elaborate into this but yeah, sometimes shit is too hard to understand.

Also, to Vietnamese players, I am pretty sure that you do understand this:
"DIT me May, an cut di"

^ above means fk ur mum, go eat shit ... but when you use google translate it becomes some random weird as shit that doesn't mean the same thing.

=> Axed's choice to get rid of it or not. People do abuse foreign languages to do those type of shit

Tl;dr: Staff can't understand most language and language such as Korean and shit and they can't even type on google translate.

Solution? Yeah, I agree that a mute would be fine but don't make it like 1 hour long since that would be pretty BS. If I accidentally speak some random Vietnamese in chat and get muted for such reason? , I quit lyfe.
Therefore, make it 15-30 minutes would be sufficient.

 

It's not the player's responsibility to deal with the fact that staff don't understand what other's are saying.

 

Who gives a shit if a person from another language curses at a staff member or a player, it's not like your whole fucking life is destroyed
