I heard a lot of people survival would get a reset. Is it true? If its true, there are a lot of reasons not to. 1.) Reset would definitely erase all months of hard work of earning and building The reason of playing survival is living as a minecrafter with your friends and showing off your builds. But whats the point if its going to be deleted? 2.) Pointless to even play survival if every year your progress would be erased eventually. So whats the reason to even play at survival? 3.) Reset because there are problems? This reset will be an endless loop because there will always be problems and reset and erasing someones progress will not completely solve it. For example, the redstone clock issue. People will still make redstone clocks even after the reset, then it will again be disabled. Thus adding another reason to reset the server which will be an endless loop of problem. 4.) I heard from my friend that his friends left because they thought that the last announced reset will continue but it didn't. The population of survival is pretty decent but with the reset I'm pretty sure more people will find the reason not to play anymore because their progress will someday get removed. If there really is not choice at least do something to save someones progress by 1.) Saving the items from inventory, pv 1, enderchest or some way to save your data. 2.) Claimblocks which we got from voting and donate should be also saved. 3.) If possible, add some compensations because of the problem just like any other games do. Conclusion. Find more reason for people to play rather than give reason not to. Feedbacks are welcome
I Believe that reset should only happen for updating to a new version of minecraft like 1.8,1.9, etc...
Resets are being done so everyone can start building there economy again. If you've played for 1 year you would probably have everything why would you want to continue playing then?
Well whats the use of building your economy if its going to get deleted after 1 year? Its just a complete waste of time. We have everything because we worked hard for it and used money. We continue playing because we built a lot in our city. Isn't that the reason why they made survival in the first place?
Resets happen alot here on GC, i played for 1 year and i beleive I went through 3 resets, few of them were due to server files being corrupted or something like that, like we had tons of lag and delay so they reset it, but dont worry, sometimes they r nice enought to let us transfer our items to newer map
well this is completely different but in semi this is a question which was asked a lot of times. but 1 day my friend actually asked cyrus about this and he said who said it would reset but we dont know if its true or not , and admins are complete trolls i just hope it doesnt reset
Well you may disagree but a lot of players like a reset to start from scratch again. There are even players that don't play now but will be back when a reset occurs. And you keep your claimblocks, rank, kits, tier 1/2/3 pets and particles if you have any of those. A reset also resets the economy allowing for a fresh new start on it, but about your inventory and enderchest keeping idea, that will get beacons banned. Because what do you think everyone would do with a reset? buy beacons. What do you think causes a lot of lag? beacons. How will a reset then influence an economy? It won't. The current economy isn't that great, it can use a reset.
If the beacons are the reason of lag, after reset, the server will be full of beacons again eventually. Thus another endless loop of resets and problems. For now, with a doom timer ticking for a reset. Why not reset now so that we could start from scratch right now? Playing at survival is pretty meaningless because it will be soon wiped out. GC should announce an accurate decision about this. Will there be a reset soon? After 1.9 patch? What will be the effect of the reset and actions done for the players that will be affected? Compensations? Items saved? Etc.
As a computer tech, there were a lot of guys in my business whose answer to all problems was "format and reinstall". It's a nuclear solution to fixing the computer, and all data is lost. The customers are rarely happy about this. It's much more elegant to fix the problem in-place and save the system. This reminds me of that. Some large servers go years between resets. One I play went from 1.5 redstone update to 1.8.9 running 3 years now with no reset, only regen of abandoned areas and regular staff maintenance. Rather than banning hoppers and beacons and resetting the data, the server can be made to work better.
I'm still waiting for reset...and here you are argueing about not doing a reset Ok Ok...you build cool building, nice structurers, etc... And now what? Build even more structurers??? Don't you get bored because there's nothing else to do? Isn't it better if you just start fresh again? And have you been to warps recently? Tell me one warp where the surrounding is not covered on holes and dirt pillars...
Why does starting fresh in a world make it more interesting? If you don't like your stuff or your buildings, just abandon them and walk 10,000 blocks to new ground. There's plenty of it. I can walk and get chunks that have never loaded before because the flowers and seeds are floating entities because they didn't spawn right. Thousands of chucks have never been loaded. Untouched villages and temples everywhere. Of course warps are destroyed. You have to wander around farther from the warps to find virgin territory. What do you thinl will happen to the warps after a reset? Destroyed again. Why not fix some place up a little instead of resetting the whole server? There is always something else to do. Learn redstone. Now learn to use it within the plugin boundaries. Make new types of structures. I've been working on one project for 4 months. It takes a long time. How can I ever finish anything if the server resets 1-2 times a year? Chunks can be regen'd. If an area is destroyed and no one has lived there in ~3 months, regen it. Many servers do this and never reset. Ugh. Probably.
