Here's a step by step guide to a Solo UHC, but of course some of it might be helpful it team UHC too... (check out @Johannesvanurk's tutorial @ http://www.guildcraft.org/threads/tutorial-uhc.37/ if you don't know what a UHC is) The first thing you should do when you spawn is to check your Coords (F3), if you're close to 700 on either X or Z you should move in a little bit towards 0,0 but not too much because most of the players camp around 0,0. The reason you're doing this is because you don't wanna be running from the border later. The first few things you should get in a UHC are: - Wood (At least 32 Logs) - Apples (Duh, try to get 5 or more) - Feathers (For arrows which you might need later,15-20 should be enough) - Food (Duh,try to get food that's enough to heal 60 hunger bars) - Leather (For Enchanting, as much as you can get) - Sugar Canes/Reeds (For Enchanting, as much as you can get) - Cobblestone (17 to be exact, 9 for your stone tools and 8 for a furnace) You should try to get these at the start of the game because it's a waste of time to get these afterwards... Next when you're caving you should watch out for: - Witches: these are very dangerous in UHCs, if a witch poisons you you will be down to 1/2 a heart! Try to tackle them with Bows as they might drop health potions which will be helpful! - Skeletons: Unlike other mobs skeletons can shoot projectiles which may not be as deadly but still cause unnecessary damage. Tackle them with a sword if you can, or just block them off! - Baby Zombies: These are just plain annoying and can cause a decent amount of damage. I still don't know a reliable way to tackle them so just do the best you can - Cave Spiders: Like witches, cave spiders can also poison you and get you down to 1/2 a heart. But unlike witches they can kill you too! These creepy crawlers can get through 1x1 gaps, if you see a cave spider spawner just GTFO. You would also wanna get the following resources while caving: - Lapis Lazuli: for enchanting... - Iron: for iron armor (24), Iron tools (9) and an anvil. (31) - Diamonds: You should try to get at least 5 so you can get enchanted. (3 for a diamond pickaxe and 2 for the enchantment table) - Obsidian: 14 should be enough! (4 for the enchantment table and 10 if you want to go to the nether) - Flint: Get all the flint you can, you need to make at least a stack of arrows and a flint and steel/lava bucket! - String: For a Bow (3) &/Or a Fishing Rod (2). Here's a little thingy that you should remember, you should know when to start packing up and coming to the surface... If you're at Coords: 700-800: You should start moving as soon the timer reaches 45:00, you're close to the border! 600-700: You should start moving when the timer reaches 40:00, the border's not that far! 400-600: You should be up on the surface when the timer reaches 35:00! 200-400: You should be up on the surface when the timer reaches 30:00! 0-200: you can come up when the timer reaches 25:00 or 20:00, just make sure that your time underground is worthwhile! Now when you come up you should be prepared for PVP, the following items should always be in your hotbar! - A Bow - A Sword - Flint & Steel/Lava Bucket (To get cooked food/Light other players on fire) - Water Bucket (If you get lit on fire) - A Fishing Rod For PVP (NOT NECESSARY) - Blocks - Golden Apples/Healing Potion(s) (If you have any) - Food - And an empty slot (For your pickaxe/shovel/axe) The rest of the game depends on your skill, remember that practice makes perfect Things you should try to find: - A Village - Jungle Temple - Desert Temple - Desert Spawners - Bonus Chests (the coordinates to these get announced in the chat, just be aware that other players also might look for these) - Ravines (These are the best for minerals!) - Mineshafts (Sources of string, just beware of cave spiders!) Some Bonus Tips: - Light an animal on fire by using a flint and steel or a lava bucket before killing it to get instant cooked food! - Always be organised and prepared if you get snuck up on by a mob/player, Get familiar with the F5 (Perspective) key as it gives you a better field of vision! - Don't throw away your bones! You might find Wolves and they would be really helpful if you can tame them... - If you have nothing else to do and can't find any players try going to the nether! Mine quartz for Exp and try to find a fortress! I hope this comes in handy
Wow great tutorial I wish I could play but I got false perm banned @CPfansNETWORK nice tutorial though
If you are sure that it was a false/unfair perm ban, you can explain yourself and appeal for a unban. Goodluck, if you do so!
Actually, a reliable way that I have found out is, that as you mentioned you should ALWAYS have blocks in our inventory, if you ever see a baby zombie, just pillar up two blocks, and kill them. Baby zombies can not climb or jump two blocks. Pillaring:- Just take your blocks jump, facing down and place the blocks, this is called pillaring. Hope this helps <3
