Ahoy, matey! Nicastro 'ere. This is a SkyBlock guide to help you start out and/or finish those nasty challenges ("Gotta complete 'em all!") that may be blocking your way to successfully claim your title as a SkyTitan. Pokémon jokes aside, there's a long way to that, so be prepared to work hard, day and night, 24/7. Or not, play as much as you want to, whenever you want to. I don't care. Just follow my steps and suit yourself for an epic journey (that'll take place on a little chunk of dirt with a tree and a chest)!

PS: I'm not playing on GC servers while writing this guide, since the SB server was down when I started writing it. I'll be covering the starting out for now, and will update whenever I'm able to get back.
PPS: This is the first guide I write for this forum. Hope you enjoy!

    Update section:

Projects are marked with an asterisk (*). Updates are marked with a dash (-).

    v1.01 (2/20/16)
    -Image added
-Minimal amount of text added on Step 1.
*This is a minimal update, every project stays the same.

    v1.0 (2/19/16)
    -Created the guide!
    -Introduction to SB server.
-Step 1 towards complete world domination! Oh, wait...
*I'll be adding images on the next update or another.
*Of course, I'm gonna try and complete the guide as much as I can. It'll take a lot, though.

    INTRODUCTION TO SKYBLOCK SERVER:

Well, you can skip this part if it's not your first time playing in this server, but do as you wish. GC's SkyBlock server uses the SkyBlock 2.1 map. For those who aren't familiar with the GC SkyBlock server (or SB servers in general), you'll receive certain prizes for completing challenges. Some challenges are repeatable, but materials will be requested in a higher quantity. There's also a shop in the server. You may need to go once or twice (or thrice, or... more...) if you want to make your road to success a bit shorter.
The currency system is not really complex in the server. You sell things, you get money. You can sell things on the server shop, but the materials you can sell aren't many in variety and you don't get much profit unless you mass-sell. So, the best options would be:
    1) Set a chest shop (you can find the tutorial in the server, and I may write one in here)
    2) Auction stuff (use the command /auction or /auc, I may write a tutorial in here)
You could probably rely on any of these three options to get money. That's your choice.
Also, you can manipulate different island properties, e.g.: biome, spawnpoint. Use /is for that.

With these points presented and explained, I will start with the actual guide!

    STEP 1: Starting Out

First of all, use the command /island start, or for short, /is start. Now, you have the classic, little, L-shaped dirt island with a little oak tree and a chest with contains a bit of stuff. You probably know what to do now, but in case you don't, I'll explain. And in case you do know... well, I'll explain anyway.
Take two layers of dirt from the island, so you leave only a thin line of dirt separating you and the void. Leave the tree where it is for now. You can move the chest if you want to. That's the only thing you need to stand on, but of course, it's waaay too small. You'll have to expand it with time, so... why not starting now? Expand the island by the tree's side, leaving a surface with a two to three-block radius. THEN, cut the tree down.
Now, it's time to start your heroic journey by completing the first challenge on the list! Take the lava bucket and the "frozen water" to make one of the most powerful and useful creations you'll ever come across in SkyBlock: a cobblestone generator. If you don't know how to make one, refer to this guide (thanks to DarkEcstasyX for writing it!): http://guildcraft.org/threads/how-to-start-your-very-own-skyblock.2351. Anyways, I prefer a stone generator rather than a cobblestone generator, since you'll not need to "cook" cobblestone in order to get raw stone if you get a pickaxe with Silk Touch.

The first challenge is done! Now you just have to mine a certain amount of cobblestone to prove it! Use /challenges to check out how much cobblestone you need, and click on the challenge icon to claim your prize!
At this point is when you'll unlock the farmer challenges. You'll need to complete these to unlock more.

Well, now is when you start using your imagination! From now on, there won't be completely direct orders to get to the top, but tips and models you can use to your advantage. I would like to continue right now, but I don't have a lot of spare time, and it's hard to write something like this without access to the SB server. Anyways, the next part I'll be writing about how to create the different farms you need to make in the most efficient ways. I don't know when will I be writing it, but expect it to get here soon!

    Hope you enjoyed,
    Nicastro

    Great tutorial!
One small flaw, Guildcraft's co-owner itsmesteyn, is no longer with the server, he was the owner of Skyblock so it's gone now.
