It's lolnoteven. You may have seen me on the Annihilation server, or even rushing in game. I'm certainly not the best at it, but I've played Annihilation for a long time (since release!) and I'd like to share my experiences. Enough about me, let's get on with it. Rushing: It's the only way to eliminate a team, or even win the game. It's terrifying to face, and pretty hard to pull off. But once you've got it down, you'll be the hero of every match. Let's start! =-♦ ♠ ♦-= II SNEAK RUSHING II "ffs wheres our def?" Part 1 - Overview The first type of rushing is Sneak Rushing. This means sneaking into a base without the enemy seeing, and damaging the nexus, defeating a team with stealth rather than with brute force. What to do: 1) Gather 6 cobblestone, to turn into a stone axe and a stone pickaxe. 2) Gather melons, wood, etc. and mine 3 iron. 3) Smelt this iron with wood, and make an iron pickaxe. 4) Mine gold. Make sure the final total number of gold is a multiple of three, since you'll be making golden pickaxes. I usually get 30 gold when I sneak rush. 5) Gather a stack of 64 wood planks and use that to smelt your gold. Wait until the furnace smelts three ingots, take them and make a gold pickaxe. You should have enough levels for a two-tier enchant by now. An enchant that previews Unbreaking II will result in Efficiency II Unbreaking II almost all the time. 6) Skipping ahead to after you're done rushing for the first time of the game, your gold should be smelted and there should be a respectable amount of wood left. Turn the wood into sticks, and put it in the fuel box. Take the completed gold ingots and put them in the top slot of the furnace for safe storage. Voila! Quick and easy gold picks for further rushing. After you have completed these steps, rush! Part 2 - Rushing Sneak rushing is particularly hard when a team is filled with people. Try to attack the team that has control over mid, since most of their players will be away and the team with diamond has a huge advantage. Each nexus is different on each map, but most of the placement is the same. It should be the part of the base with the beacon light shining out of it. For example, in Coastal v3, there are 3 huge ramparts, but the main one containing the nexus is at the heart of the base, with the beacon shining out of it. Also, a little bonus tip: Coastal v3 has a secret/not-so-secret sewer entrance. It's located under the rampart facing the non-bridge side. You can mine into it, and travel into the enemy nexus, undetected. Another crucial point: each map should have an area where you can shift and spy on the enemy. Some notable examples are: In Castaway, theres the wooden log wall on the left, next to the melons, where you can spy on the enemy, and strike when there is no one defending. In Outback, there is an area atop the nexus, accessible with kits such as Scout and Acrobat, where you can spy on defending name-tags, and jump down, striking when they are most vulnerable. In Coastal, there is the top stair, where you can wait, or the sewers underground, where you can shift and wait until the enemy stops defending. <3 In Eldor, there's a bridge up top leading to a ladder down at the nexus. Convenient, right? AND it's accessible outside the base. In Canyon, there are numerous little passageways in the nexus room area where you can hide, provided that you can get into the nexus room, undetected, fast enough. It takes a rather long time to get to the nexus in Canyon. Part 3 - Conclusion There are many more, those are just a few examples of where you can hide and watch out for defenders (not to be confused with the kit), because defenders are what thwart these common types of attacks. Lastly, to damage the nexus, just mine it with your pick. The nexus is the endstone in the center, btw. Next, we'll cover OP Raiding/Farming, which eats up defenders for breakfast. =-♦ ♠ ♦-=
=-♦ ♠ ♦-= III OP RAIDING AND FARMING III "hacks!! wtf!!" Part 1 - Overview Who doesn't like to do this? Filling the logs with your kills, farming the living hell out of the enemy. Doesn't it sound great? Well, it requires a crap ton of preparation and gold-mining, and kit Enchanter is good if you want to do a good job of it. Sharp IV works so well with strength pots, because any foe armored with iron is three-shot and every leather foe is two-shot. A note: Be sure to use EXTENDED (8 min) Strength Pots, because GC has nerfed the stronger ones, and they will no longer 1-hit leathers. Get the extended ones. What to do: 1) Get your stone pick and mine 29 iron. This is enough for a full set of iron armor, an iron pickaxe, and an iron sword. Smelt this with some wood. 2) Mine some coal, preferably 20 or more. Go to the gold mine, and get two stacks of gold. This is enough to get to lv30 with enchanter (therefore getting sharpness IV, because that's always the first enchant on most maps), though enchanter is not necessarily needed. 3) Craft a furnace, and hide it somewhere, preferably under a piece of wood (because it regenerates after you mine it). You need this in conjunction with the ender furnace, because only having 1 furnace running at a time is simply not enough. 4) Split the gold and coal between the two furnaces, go back to the base and enchant your sword. Sharpness II is fine for those without kit Enchanter. Those with enchanter will get Sharpness IV Unbreaking III with their first lv30 enchant. 5) Go back and mine back up to lv30 if you're enchanter, and get Efficiency IV (guaranteed after Sharpness IV enchant) on your iron pickaxe. If you're not enchanter, get a gold pickaxe and enchant Efficiency II on it. Enchant your iron armor, too. 6) After this is done, get apples. One gapple is usually enough for a good farm. I'll go in-depth about this in the next section. Apples can only be obtained from oak leaves and dark oak leaves, but you have a much better chance of getting an apple out of a dark oak leaf. This makes rushing on the map TheOak easier by a lot. 7) Check your furnaces. After getting the appropriate amount of apples for your rush, your gold should be almost done smelting. You need 72 gold ingots, or 8 blocks of gold, and an apple for a gapple. Make them, or do step 8 while waiting for the remaining gold to smelt. 8) Phase 4 should be long past. Get a brewing stand, netherwart, blaze powder, redstone, and 3 glass bottles, totaling 34 gold ingots. Fill the bottles with water, go to an isolated area and brew Extended strength potions. Recipe: Netherwart --> Blaze Powder --> Redstone. 9) Rush. Good luck! Read the next section for a more in-depth way to attack. Part 2 - Rushing You may be nervous by now. All this preparation, and you're ready. If you die, you lose everything you've prepared over the past hour. It's the time. A preferable method is to sneak into the base and attack from the inside out. Use methods from Chapter 1 - Sneak Rushing to sneak in. It doesn't really matter if there are defenders, though. Drink your strength, eat your gapple, and barge in! Cut through their armor like butter, and mine the nexus faster than anyone has ever done. Become a team hero! Another option for OP Rushing requires diamond armor to be used effectively. If your team has control over mid, follow all the steps above, but get diamond armor and mine more gold. This strategy is more for long-running games and is to farm more anni experience points. In addition to strength potions, you need Instant Health II potions for this to work. Enchant your diamond armor, and have more than two furnaces smelting your gold at a time. Recipe: Netherwart --> Glistening Melon --> Glowstone --> Gunpowder, totaling 14 gold ingots after already getting the brewing stand. These may seem tacky but they pay off in the end. Make at least 6 Instant Health II Potions. The point is, leathers won't do much damage to you, and they will only gradually take your health down, so Instant Health Potions are blessings to a farm rush like this. Regeneration is also great, I'll include the recipe here: Netherwart --> Ghast Tear --> Redstone, totaling 24 gold ingots after already getting the brewing stand. Farming: Farming is a big part of Annihilation and is where people get the most xp. Players will keep coming down in leather after dying, and you will keep mopping them up with your strength potion-boosted attacks. In Canyon, farming is especially effective, since you can just camp in the stairs to the nexus and hit people through a crack, scoring many kills. =-♦ ♠ ♦-= IV KITS TO HELP YOU IV "get lumberjack lol" Sneak Rushing: Acrobat: Amazing in general. You can leap up onto a safe spot to spy on the enemy, or leap up into an advantageous spot that leads to the nexus. Scout: Being able to get anywhere in general, scout is a great kit for getting in the nexus quickly and escaping just as fast. Jumper: Being able to get a massive boost ahead, Jumper is great for attacking the nexus swiftly and silently. Assassin & Spy I lumped these two together because they do similar things, turning you invisible. Do I really need to explain why this is so good for sneaky tactics? OP Raiding and Farming: Enchanter: Gear galore! Sharpness IV, Protection IV, and Efficiency IV, do I really need to say more? Plus, this kit works beautifully with the necessary ingredient for a rush, gold. Scout, Acrobat, Jumper I lumped these together because I would use them mainly to get away. I don't want to be in a sticky situation where I am forced to eat and waste my gapple to protect my OP gear, so I can utilize kits like these to run away from team-ups or large groups of players. Vampire Health stealing is a great ability to utilize when you're rushing, especially when you're farming on stairs, because you're regenning yourself while dealing massive damage as well. Handy. =-♦ ♠ ♦-= V CONCLUSION V I really hope this helped. I've spent a long time on this tutorial and I hope that you will benefit from it. Personally, rushing fills me with adrenaline, nervousness and excitement. Succeeding in a rush is really a great feeling, and failing is a pretty bad disappointment. I won't pretend that I'm a really good rusher, but like everything else, success comes with practice. It does pay off in the end. Cheers, and best of luck with your rushing experiences! -lolnoteven =-♦ ♠ ♦-=
Well done man! I love the tutorial but i have my own secret ways to rush, if i tell you i will have to kill you
sneaky rushing is useless just use assassin, vampire berserker and warrior are OP for farming, acro is op but scoit and jumper are pretty bad for farming. also get 40 irons because u need axe and more tools if the enchant went bad.
Great Great tutorial!! Very well constructed and will come to great use for new and regular players of annihilation ^·^
