»PvP axe vs sword which better?

Some of you will say PvP axe is much better than sword because it will break armor faster than a sword. But axe can't reach 2.5 blocks not like a sword and deal less damage than sword.
So what's your opinion and which better?

PVP axe
Enchant : Sharp V fire II
Advantages : break armor faster (mcmmo) and do more chance critts

PvP sword
Enchant : Sharp V fire II
Advantages : more damage and reach further

 

For some reason, the 1.9.x+ update to MC changed the strength of the axe so...

 

it depends on how accurate you are when you hit. If you hit the player more than they hit you a axe is better because you can break their armour and POP em. If you are a not as accurate Pvper than a sword is recommended because you will be dealing more damage. So there isn't really an answer to the question. It depends on the player on which is better.
