»Monsterstorm ( test-admin) abuse / false banning?

Hello to all my dear readers. Today I am writing about an issue my friend Exiile ( R.I.P ) has occurred. He sent a mail to Xtreme_9ain, with his personal server ip address. Now, this is a tricky issue, because staff guidelines say:

Advertisement

Asking players to join a server via mentioning the servers name in general conversation or by private messaging an Ip.

Also, advertising of Youtube videos, Youtube Channels, or Twitch channels.

“player123 > helper123 Come play my.server.com it has awesome games!”

This message is still considered light advertisement even though it cannot be seen by everyone.

“Come watch my video at youtube.com/wedontcare!”

This message is still considered light advertisement because it’s a link to a youtube video. These may only be posted on the forum.


“Player123 > Player321 come Kohi”

This is acceptable. Some servers offer unique gamemodes such as we earlier said come Annihilation which was on Showbow.

Perm mute these players and contact an admin for the perm ban.(with a screenshot)

Perm ban these players.


Advertisement for

things such as youtube must be punished with a 2 day mute.

as you can all see, it says nothing about /mail send [player]. But monsterstorm banned him right away. This should be viewed by melon / axed. This has happened with 2 people already. And not the broadcast nor melon have officially announced this rule. Therefor I demand that melon and axed review this.

./Mail is another way of private messaging (and /whisper, /tell, /msg are all forms of private messaging aswell). Also if you look from another angle, /mail is worse since the IP stays till the player do /mail clear.

Anyway, that's my opinion ;P

 

The banned player can make an unban request, the rules will stay the same.
If he was found guilty to advertisement the ban shall stay.
Guidelines are not rules, they are there to guide our team throughout the day.

Let me just quickly remind you of the following rule:
Do not Advertise in any form this includes but is not limited to

• Advertising other server ip's
• Advertising Youtube or Twitch content
• Advertising links

Which are the ones that are publicly accessible whereas the guidelines are not shared at all, they are not meant to be the rules for you to follow and exploit this for loopholes however you deem necessary, which is exactly what you're doing in this case, thus the idea that they aren't public.

 

When I was on last night, you talked to me about this and I told you what happened and how that any from of adv is banable and I caught if for that, so that's why he got banned
