Currently, there is no cost to create a faction. This means that any new player can instantly start a faction, type in /wild and go on his merry way. There is no reason to join another person's faction, and there is no downside of making your own. Since the land protection benefits that a faction receives are monumental, there should also be a significant cost to balance the perks of having a faction. If there is a price to creating a faction, then there will be less factions with 1 or 2 players and we'll see much bigger, more active factions. Factions will be forced to interact with one another, as there should only be about 5 or 6 competitive factions on a server of that size. (The server I'm referring to is the diamond sword one, I'm not sure what it's actual name is). Furthermore, the name of that server is original factions or something of the sort, so I feel like there should be at least some sort of emphasis on factions. Right now I'm in my own faction, and I can safely farm for resources and whatnot, and there is absolutely no benefit to joining another faction for me. I feel like the players are too isolated, and that factions are just a convenience. In a server of this size, there should constantly be wars between factions for resources or money or something. I just feel that my actions as a player are pointless and there's not even a reason to contribute to the server. Others have expressed a similar opinion. I don't want to feel like a pointless entity in a giant server, I want to feel like my contributions matter. Larger factions should be encouraged, as should inter-faction competitions. There should be some kind of benefit to joining a faction, so that way I don't feel like just playing the game by myself is the best way to go. I play on a server to interact with others, but currently there is no way to really interact with others.
I do understand your willings to interact with others, but this would be more suitable for servers like survival or semivanilla, where players actively trade with each other. There are wars between factions and such, but the thing is that there are only few big factions and players who know each other well. Most small factions are there to be raided or get insided.
Why do you think the big factions will actually take bunch of new people, they won't ofc, that's why people create factions on their own to play with friends, and if you're good you can join up good facs and stuff, but for a fact I know the big factions won't just PICKUP some random guys, also 5-6 factions? You in senses? With only 5-6 factions it won't be fun, it's a 19k*19k map looking for bases will take ages. Sorry, but a bad suggestion. Plus its not difficult to be one of the good faction, get some people in your fac, start making money and you'll be famous pretty soon.
Ok, well first of all, it's not a bad suggestion. I'm saying as a fact that the diamond sword server only has enough members to support 5-6 competitive factions. Obviously there will be factions that aren't interested in interacting with others, which is why I discounted them. Furthermore, the noob players will stick together, while the serious won't accept new players. Nothing you said surprises me at all, and I'm not sure you understood what I said at all.
-1 fist 6 to 6 factons ok not even in your dreams and i played like 100 radnom servers and only 1 or 4 had that system and 2. if there were 5 to 6 factons why will they invite random onter ppl cause 1 fac will have 40 or 60 players flon line on wildernes will have only or or 2 bases and for the new players it will be imposible to make anyprogres be cause they will ge raided every 2 or 4 days and i will stop here but there are 100 more reasons yust to know.
You say all the noobs will stick together, why do you think noobs will have a chance, plus 250 players play the factions server at one time, and over a day quite alot play, 5-6 factions would make this boring, plus at my faction level I already have over like 20factions at competition why do you think that these twenty facs would combine and be like 3-4 good facs. They won't cause it's not easy to manage facs. Please think more before suggesting, good you're trying tho.
