I think its time we look at the feedback of players on factions original. Although we did ask for such changes, I think it'd be nice to have a strict thread asking for thoughts on how factions could've been different but still hold its not as p2w - not afk based side. Yes I know I complain a lot, but I guess admins and my perspective of a godly faction server don't meet up or aren't simply compatible, however I do think that with a single thread many players can review ideas and branch off of it rather than having many people dividing their ideas between several threads. I dont know just an idea, I think it'd be more organized, and much easier to branch into new ideas / frames. @aXed
First suggestion- get another admin to support tender, tender is good on hacking part but not on part on getting facs better. Tender has the power to get facs better, and idk if he is using it well maybe another admin should help him out on the "MAKING FACS BETTER PART". I know my words seem weird, I like tender as a admin he does his banning of hackers nice but he is not open to improving facs or making it better in some way. He can do a lot more at that position, all he does is ban the wrong doers and maybe somewhere listen to a suggestion. No offence, we need someone open to suggestions, rather than someone who just says no without even thinking much bout it, idk if its his fault or aXed's but I think he can't make major decisions without asking aXed even though he is the headadmin, ofc aXed on the other hand is busy with other servers, so I suggest giving full power to tender to make his decisions or rather see into our suggestions yourself axed. The server has alot of potential to be a better server, only if you guys up there be open minded and look into what people suggest.
I agree with @Silencerz45 and @BlueJay .. I think there should definitely be a change in the whole factions system. It's becoming boring now. Problems: 1. Raiding and TNT 2. Lag 3. Redstone Torches That's all I care about currently. Another thing, I think it's time we bring in Events into Factions to make it even more interesting.
Im talking in general, honestly some aspects can definetly be better to lean towards a more balanced server not exactly balanced but a more.. normal faction server lets just say.
Totes agree and I'd like to add that I think that if we were to adapt some things from other servers, such as plugins, it wouldnt make us copiers, certain game modes like factions are meant to be alike, yet different, however some things simply need to be there so its fun for players and doesn't get boring after a month.
Yes I would have to somewhat agree with that, as I think that if factions was to be put into a beta testing mode for a week, that players who had access to gmc would quickly notice the simplicity as well as action you can receive with small changes like creeper eggs. Even if suggestions like this aren't taken I can say without hesitating the raiding end on factions clearly is outweighed by pvping, which really isnt very logical because raids envoke even more pvping, which is a result of being a threat, which really isnt possible without large cannons that can actually raid a base fast and won't take 5 hours to raid with. Which gc can't really handle atleast none of which have been tested.
One of the biggest problems which is causing players to not stay on guildcrafts factions is all the lag; the server is constantly laggy, gets lag spikes pretty often and when raiding is concerned everything lags so we're limited to making smaller cannons which is a huge disadvantage to the server growing.
The staff need to change! (Factions) Tenderman is nice and few other r nice to! But some r total dumbos, I remember a particular admin will not say the name, was asking me do I have aimbot cause I won a 2v1 ,I was like r u even a admin, the admin was looking at me rather then a guy who was gliching in to pvp bases, through doors and I think he became admin for fun not for his duty. Get admins who r working hard there r few new admins which r very hard working. And there r few mod r also Mean aka favouring there own faction or alllies ..Well I think this is not a gameplay thingy still..... And 2 more thing Fix cannons Fix lag!
- Fix lag - Make a testing cannon server with the same settings of factions so people can test cannons there since most of the cannons made on singleplayer don't work properly here. - Get more admins, the amount of blatant hackers is gigantic and most of the time there is no admin to ban them. - Give Tender a slave
i think a way to decrease lag is by putting more giga bites for the server I'm not sure if axed or alter can do that
I'm just going to respond to this thread. First of all, I understand you guys have the right intention but serious these suggestions make 0.0 sense, and you can blame me for not changing enough but a fact is that 90% of the current 'set-up' isn't going to change because it's based on our PREVIOUS experience (I'm head-admin for almost a year and aXed has been around for even way longer.) I will explain some things: First of all, let's start with the lagg. 1) Lagg spikes will always be an issue because these sometimes can occur, HOWEVER 90% of the lagg is based on YOUR internet and not OUR host, I myself live in the Netherlands (Relatively close to where we host our servers.) therefor I do not experience lagg as often as NA/Asian players. (You can't blame this on the server cause even a NA or Asian proxy won't fix that.) 2) GC a premium server? roughly 75% of the players are cracked so that's a no no. 3) Redstone torches have been disabled with multiple reasons, 1) Lagg, 2) Economy, 3) Duping. (There still are ways to create mechanics which normally would require a redstone torch. 4) Just adding more RAM or CPU or whatever won't fix the lagg, yes it would fix it if currently our server isn't running smooth and stable but that's NOT the case, the server doesn't experience much lagg (unless there is a plugin bug/glitch/wrong setting.) 5) 'Get more admins' 'Omg the admins do nothing' 'This admin is just admin for the fun' Let's state some facts: 1) Admins are admins because they LIKE to help the community, if they preferred playing the game like regular players they wouldn't be an admin, also admins are here to help you guys and not themselves since obviously they can't really help themselves since they do not play like normal players. 2) More admins is something which almost always is a problem on factions, however we have to accept that with an average of approximately 120 players (24 hours a day.) (Admins who are active for 2 hours a day are active admins and this is above average.) So let's do the simple math, we would need 12 admins to always have an admin on at all time, and even if this was the case this admin should take care of 1) All the ingame help-ops 2) Forum reports. In the current situation there are quite some admins on factions and quite some global-admins. My responsibility as an head-admin is to take care of applications, forum reports, forum help questions, forum unmute requests, control the current staff and being active on teamspeak and ingame. 6) I also see stuff about 'Now it's AFK to get money', well that's not true, the biggest AFK-money problem was: Iron golem spawners (which we removed.) Yes farmers still have an advantage if they can farm cactus without getting kicked by the AFK timer but let's be realistic, high donators do need to have advantages because we NEED them to keep the server up and running. Also there are plenty of possibilities to make money FASTER than afk-ing (Trading) Now you can blame aXed, me, or the regular admins for not making GC as you want it. But we rarely get respect, not even a simple thank you, for all the stuff we do for you guys. I do appreciate and consider ALL argumented suggestions, but there are things which the community just has to accept and deal with. 1) Changes made because the community asked for it will only be un-done if they turn out to be really bad changes. 2) Items which are blocked ingame are blocked after multiple checks and tests, if there was any other way to avoid the problems which occured thanks to these items than we would have fixed that instead of banning them. 3) The staff tries there best to help everyone, but it's just not possible to always help you instantly, yes we could lower the requirements or accept more admins of lower quality but let's be honest, that wouldn't help the staff or the community. It might be frustrating to not always get an answer but if you have a valid question just ask on the forums and a fellow member/staff member will eventually answer it! If you have a suggestion which is NEW then please suggest it. But be realistic, with all the nonsense questions and unargumented suggestions, you just won't always get an answer (Even though I'm sure I read at least 75% of all suggestions and 90-95% of the suggestions which are made by active players and or get a lot of feedback from the community.) The last thing I want to say is: We will change things if the majority of the community wants it and IT'S possible and realistic, however we won't change something which we just nerfed/buffed because the majority of the community disliked it and we will not change things which just aren't possible.
When raiding, we sometimes won't be able to get all the loot from that base because of the entities clearing, so I think that we should be able to open chest in claimed land because you will be rewarded with all the loot you want just because you got into the base. When I was raiding with StickyPiston, a tonne of diamond gear entitled clear and it is frustrating because it could of been p4 and we aren't getting it.
I dont think I really have a problem with staff, I simply have noticed how some stuff simply isnt "balanced" or as efficient as pvping is made, atleast in my perspective, but frankly some stuff should change, and yes this isn't any kind of new suggestion but the old ideas clearly seem to be bought back for a reason I guess. And I dont think i'm the only one bringing back old suggestions that have been previously declined, I just think some stuff is there, for example the idea of openable chests which clearly isnt going to work out, but then whats the point of raiding. If this is as you say, made for pvping then honestly we should've just originally made obsidian unbreakable if pvping is all that matters in factions. And if it were to be raiding we clearly can't get enough to profit of any kind especially large bases. However this is just one example, and obviously its my opinion people's opinions change. This clearly isn't the end of the suggestion roll but we players of the community (those who actually notice the difference between GC and other fac servers) clearly are basically out of ideas that aren't rejected. We've come to the point to realize anything involving mechanics or raiding is clearly going to be rejected, anything involving special enchantments wont change until a reset happens, if at all. So I think that basically explains why I personally have just been repeating the same suggestions to probably reach a point when I eventually give up repeating such ideas. And again taking the chest idea for example, you rejected it with the statement it envokes glitching, however I think another way around would be ceggs. I honestly think there is a middle point where stuff equals out but I personally cant think of anything but the rejected ideas that could possible improve raiding. To add to that I think that our feedback tends to be quite offensive and thus we never really say it, yes we did ask for things and you gave us those things, but I do think there are aspects in which we clearly lack in, although it may not seem prominant because lots of players focus on pvp, there is still the time where those players turn to raiding for when they get insided or something along those lines, and again this is just part of the example, but they clearly cant redeem themselves through raiding, and raiding is just becoming a waste of tnt. Glitching is a factor but raiding (Still only an example) shouldn't be set aside, as its part of the game, insiding and pvping is probably one of the few ways to get IV without grinding villagers, and thus I think that raiding should be buffed, or in any other words, it should be appealing or it should interest players to the point where they think "Ok if I can get through these 20 walls I can make mad profit" I think that 20 walls alone is annoying enough to go through, and to hit 1 furnace really isn't appeasing. Although this is a old idea its just an example, I havent seen any other way around the idea of making it this way that has really made cannoning servers a legit full-cannon server, atleast to my definition / view of it. @MonsterStorm Who also posted above that he had times where chests became increasingly annoying. I also think that because players can simply add a redstone block and a redstone lamp to the top of their chests, to prevent opening that opening chests would be slightly effective however ceggs would seem more reasonable, and I do know that its in /buy but its a cracked server, 90% of players don't bother purchasing anything other than a rank if at all. @Silencerz45 @FR0Z3N_EAGLE @wss10 I tagged some players that I think actually care for some changes.
Not going to add opening chests in claimed territorium, that's something for faction black not faction original.
I admit with Tenderman.Factions is way more fun than last reset's faction (afking in ig for money).But all I would suggest is to open a pvp or anything man I mean like any event to have fun in.Like pvp would be just awesome (as I am good in pvp )..So yes events would undoubtedly get alot of attention .
It seems like some of the suggestions mentioned have or were attempted to be implemented into Factions Black. Unfortunately, Black doesn't have many players because there isn't much there to draw players. The suggestions of ceggs in factions is in fac black, withers were in black before original, brewing supplies are in black before original, and Tenderman has said that custom enchants would fit in Factions Black better than original.
