»[Factions] Openable Chests

    So here is the gist of it: I've asked several admins for openable chests, and I've always recieved the answer of 'idk if its a good idea' or 'thats just asking for glitchers' or something along those lines. Well I feel that Chests in other claims should still be OPENABLE. The reason I feel this way and I can say without a doubt that the admins may feel a different way than us cannoners and players. So here's way:
    • Its a cannon server in the over world, I believe that basically means that even if chests arent openable in the end and nether because of withers, I think in other claims you should be able to open chests in the over world due to it being a primarily cannon server (No one really builds big bases in the end anyways, if you do good luck ;).
    • I believe that from the answers I've recieved from allies and friends, that the community itself favors the idea of cannoning however, does not cannon due to the simple fact that its not worth the 50 tnt to hit 1 chest full of starter gear.
    • And Yes I understand that people will respond saying that they'll just add a redstone block and lamp ontop but I think creeper eggs would be asking for too much at the current situation where factions is simply progressing. I think that in my honest opinion that raids make all the difference.
    • I have noticed pvping has actually increased, atleast from what I've seen, when someone says "Iv warp pvp" I usually see 2-3 people showing up (From what I've seen). However I dont think that pvp should be the only way to gain IV outside of grinding and buying kits.
    • I have an example, below is a file showing many walls which doesn't take many claims to make anyhow. These walls would take approximately 1000+ tnt, that alone should say enough to explain why raiding isnt exactly balanced between the raiders and the defenders. Defending seems to be quite easy and if someone does manage to get through these walls... what're the chances they'll even hit a single chest? This question is the same question every person who raids asks, wondering whether or not to actually raid a base, the simply pride of raiding a massive base isnt enough, basically raiding a base to make a 5x5 hole and hitting 1-2 chests will empty your pocket dry of tnt, cobwebs, and probably IV from fighting defenders.
    • I think that these three points prove more than enough as to why we should be given the privilege of being a full fletched cannon server even if its only in the over world. As for glitchers, I feel that the report system is by far one of the best systems, as I on a daily basis use helpop and recieve responses instantly if an admin is on. I think that this system enough will have sift through the community to unveil and ban any glitchers. I think the ban itself should prevent anyone from even considering glitching.
    • Edit: I yet receive many replies saying it encourages glitching, but why is it assumed that people will glitch is my simple question, and if it is so that people begin glitching why is it that we as a server can't prevent this, I feel that if others are able to find a way to implement this system, as most cannon servers do, we should be able to do just that if not more. I as well as I can say on behalf of many others, believe this is a very nice and necessary feature within a server where cannoning is the one and basically only way to raid in a given area (The over world where most bases are made) I believe that we can make this happen :D

    Keep in mind.. this is for the better.. for a change a change that'll change the way all of factions works.. and I assure you if you agree with these points above, it is a change for the better of GC Cannoning & Bases...

    I agree. No point in wasting a ton of tnt on a few chests

    I can't post a poll however if an admin could edit this if not if an admin could contact me to lock this thread so I could create another one with a poll it would be nice ;)

    This is a good suggestion +1 but the downfall is when u invite people to your fac they will sethome at your base and betray u, they can just hire spies to infiltrate the base

    It really simple idea and all cannon servers have openable chests except gc because they wants it to be hardcore :p

    I really think this is a great and simple request. To be honest , our aims are the same , to get into bases not get into base AND try to get the chests in the bases. This way people will be more aware of who to invite and how to defend their base such that raiders can't get in that easily. People will put more time and efforts to defend their base. Also people will probably use redstone block and redstone lamp to protect their chests. This way even if spies sethome , they wont be able to steal the loots. :p Also , this way the rate of creeper eggs used will definitely increase. I believe that tnt should only be used to get into bases not getting the chests with tnt after getting into the bases. This might also allow people to build better cannons and everyone will gain more experience eventually. This is definitely a must for all faction servers. Sometimes , tnt might also blow up loots which can be frustrating. I really hope this suggestion gets considered thoroughly! :p

    as ive said in similar post to this, and i think admins would agree that making chests openable in claimed territory would encourage glitching into bases and vualts and admins arent always on to watch if players glitch into bases they have a life also u know

    I agree with this its a very good idea if youre samrt enough you would put some blocks on the chests that noone could open but now you need a ton of tnt to blow up like obby and the chests :p And if youre scared of glitchers make frieking glitch rooms for youre base

    +1 , agree with you for allowing openable chest. It would be easier for raiding and people will start making harder bases with more defences. This will increase the trill of gc raiding .

    I personally think that just adds all the thrill to factions, it makes it harder, certain factions rely on other players simply for power. This will force players to rethink how they work their factions and not invite everyone just for power.

    Similar to what @aleksejus said, I believe it really isnt expensive to build a tp glitch layer, and honestly if someone's in your base you built it horribly to begin with. Larger bases have tp glitch layers, all you need is one glitch room to prevent losing 20 dubs of IV. And honestly most players should learn to adapt to the feeling that admins can check logs, many people think that they can't however I do feel that admins (Although that doesn't mean we can go around accusing) that people can report a specific time and I believe there is a plugin which records logs that record failed glitching or glitching into a block in general, of course you'd probably have to provide coordinates, but I think that its honestly worth the time, many players join GC factions and I believe that many people already have wanted this and now I can see off of the responses already that we as a community are looking for exactly this.

    Correct me if I'm wrong :D

    If you scared of betraying just put blocks on the chests make them protected with water and owner claim that land that youre loot would be safe :)

    @BlueJay , have you tried to edit your post and add a poll? Or does that not work for some reason?

    Anyway, I completely agree with this. I've had to waste several stacks of tnt just to blow up one chest in a base with one layer of obby and got some food i think it was. Too bad you can only like a post once.

    Hah yea I tried, I dont know if I'm just missing it or something, but thanks for agreeing, you also understand the real struggles of cannoning without really knowing what you'll even get ;C

    Bad Idea This would Incourage Base Glitchers / Bugs might be exposed beacuse of this -fly
