This is my detailed breakdown of what I view as the factions reset. This should not be taken offensively, this is constructive criticism, it is not satire. And no the thread title isn't supposed to be "details" it is supposed to be "detailed". So basically like most resets most people expect something new from the reset. And this time, we really did. We were told one thing, given another and we're simply not content. And yes I am speaking for the majority of people, if you're one of the few who is fine with this reset, this isn't the thread for you. We're speaking of how resets are meant to attract new players. This factions reset we had really hoped for a revamp of the entire server. However this is not what happened, and therefore I thought it was time to voice what I think is wrong about these resets. The approach being taken looks like it is only for the money, and no offense but it really doesn't seem well thought out. If you look at GC like a service, it really would be MUCH more profitable to you, @aXed [Hoping you're reading this because this is simply put, a summarization of the reset outcome] for you to strategically revamp the reset so you attract more players. I think the perspective right now seems to be to profitable for axed, however it really isn't the MOST profitable, and it really isn't the BEST thing on GC. The factions server could easily have grown into GC's biggest and best server had it followed a revamp course that most players wanted. Do not take this to offense, but I think we factions players know what attracts us the most compared to admins. And I know there is one or two admins out there who will take this greatly to offense, but its true. We play the game and experience the struggles or the mishaps, or anything that could possibly detract from the server. I truly believe that had some admins been forced to play, they'd greatly change their perspective on what needs to be changed on factions. I simply find it that factions is too boring. Yes you added stuff and props to you for doing so, but i think its time to finally decide whether factions is going to become GC's biggest server again, or will it slowly plunge to an end. Yes, it isn't meant to be offensive but statistically, GC factions isn't doing good. Yes I mean this the lightest way possible, multiple resets back on a weekday you could find the server at 250 players, and this was because there was interest, the game sparked in people's eyes. And yes, I know I risk being banned for simply saying stuff like this, but I simply don't like seeing people becoming distasteful with factions in general because the resets here have been bland to put it simply. We factions players would like for a revamp, we don't want a reset that is rushed, we wanted a reset that would light competition ablaze. We wanted a revamp, so I hope next time the server can take a turn for the older days, when players used to look forward to coming online to PLAY not AFK. And yes I know it is early to talk for a reset this early but I don't see any better way since last time after we had requested a reset, the reset was rushed and quickly put together rather than looking at it perspectively in the eyes of a player. I think this could be the last straw so I'll go all out on this thread. This is specifically for you to look at @aXed and @Melon333 I hope this convinces you as to why factions resets are meant to be unique, and can greatly help the server if they followed in changing the entire server up. ☚▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬☛ Large factions servers do well for multiple reasons, and for that reason I'll be analyzing why they do so well and what attracts so many players. Large bases [Massive amounts of power per player] Better cannoning Well rounded economy No Spawner limits Creative prizes for keys Continuous changes in main server attractions [gameplay changes] These factions servers which I will not list, make tens of thousands of USD from one reset because it changes things up. The smallest of servers become well known because they're competitive! They have a well based economy, they revamp every reset, they bring new changes to the table, they offer something other factions servers do not. I'm no expert in servers or their development, but as an experienced factions player, I can tell you, Guildcraft isn't offering anything new compared to other servers, there is no reason for a factions player in search of a server to pick GC over any other server and that is the blatant truth. If you look at it comparatively, there is a major reason why factions loses players, because other cracked servers such a Pika, offer less restrictions. When a factions player is looking for a server, there is no reason for someone to choose GC over many thousands of other factions servers because GC restricts everything, everything causes "lag" but is that really a reason to hold back? I think its time you tested things out, Factions servers with thousands of players on at once don't face lag, I don't see any reason for one of the top cracked servers to face any problem with lag when it has a quality host. I simply can't understand why lag is a reason for developers to not attempt a no-restriction reset. There are some things that simply can't be allowed, but its time GC at least made its way up to the same level current top factions servers are on, we're miserably behind and it is clearly taking a toll on the player count, and the profitability of the server. Next reset its time to look at competitors to see why they have more players, what're they offering that GC isn't? And what can GC offer that isn't in the factions community already? Hate me if you want, but it is about time someone told everyone straight forwardly how GC must step up its game.
