Well we all know that tnt mechanics were changed in 1.8 and most cannons are designed for 1.7 add to that GC's lag and like that it will nearly impossible to predict how cannons will work here. Ex: A regular lien stacks only 2 sand if u don't change some delays because the water messes up the hammer. First off TNT's power got nerfed extremely. This means you need to add much more TNT to your cannon to make it go as far as it did before. For example it needd a 6 charge cannon to go as far as a 3 charge cannon did in 1.7. Secondly TNT is pushed by water, this seems like it shouldn't make a difference but it makes a huge difference. Depending on where you place your water source your TNT cannon will either become extremely powerful, or extremely weak fire range wise. This can mess up hammers on most cannon and maybe the power. Last you have the mounting blocks, mounting blocks got really nerfed in 1.8. The basic mounting blocks are (in order of power in 1.7), fence/wall, ladder, trapdoor, and slab. You pretty much need to use a ladder now, or your cannon will fire about 5/10 blocks out. This can be fixed by moving your mounting block up a block from the TNT charge, but this nerfs the range of your cannon horribly. So ye i guess we need to bring back the old tnt mechanics and why not a new cannon test server.
