What is your in-game name? Raajheer1 Timezone: GMT -5 Motivation: I have always love to code growing up, I started learning to code around the age of 10 because my dad was a Senior Developer for IBM. My constant obsession with coding allowed for me to quickly learn how to be an effective coder and go straight into real world application. I am also hoping to minor in computer science while in college. What I will bring: With the Developer role, I will hopefully be able to bring a more organized, efficient and appealing website to guildcraft. Experience: I have been coding for quite some time now and I believe that I am a very proficient developer, I currently work for TheProtelGroup as a Web Developer and Project Manager. I am knowledgeable in Unix, Python, HTML, PHP, and Java(I hate Java) and am currently trying to learn nodeJS. I am currently taking Computer Science classes in High School so I can get the easy college credit but I am glad to say I have gotten a 5 on all collegeboard computer science exams. My largest past project I have worked on involving Web Development was for Envoy Air. I worked as a Web Developer on creating a website for their Virtual Airline. Their goal with this was to attract more up and coming pilots to work for them. My biggest non-website related project was, setting up Voice over IP servers its Botswana with my father. Some of my work, I am not going to give out the website on a Github or anything but I will show u a screenshot of be in Putty and a screenshot of the website and prove that I am the one running the website.(As follows in that order) Also, @aXed or another developer if u want to see the whole site, I can run a backup of the website on an alternate server so you can take a look around at all the panels like the Crew center and Admin center. Thanks, Raajheer1 P.S. My favorite flavor of Linux is Debian no hard feelings for all you Ubuntu fans.
First of all you are actually an absolute nerd Second of all Web Developers have completely nothing to do with the looks or design of the website. They make things such as the ban section of the forums and what used to be the stats section. Most importantly you will need to know JavaScript. You said you know java which is good but isn’t really going to help develop a website. Also java is one of the most flexible languages (in my opinion) python is an absolute pain in the ass. I guess html is useful aswell but that is most useful for people making a website from scratch which you do not need to do as this is an exenforo forum You might also want to include some solid evidence that you’re not talking bs. But it’s alright if you don’t want to show your github Ps. That is not actually evidence of your coding. Your just showing the directories of the site. --- Double Post Merged, Jul 29, 2018, Original Post Date: Jul 29, 2018 --- @aXed he might have a staff tag but I strongly advice you to be careful with this one
Thanks for the reply! Just a few things to add yes I know JScript I made sure to learn that before trying to learn NodeJS LMAO. I know Java is the most widely used language I just don't like it personally. Java has a lot of API's but Python APIs are starting to be seen through most of them are still in Beta. I don't mind showing the actual PHP and HTML code of each file to someone like @aXed but I will certainly not show it to anyone on this forum. ( I can also show you how I structured the Database if you would like that. Thanks, Raajheer1 --- Double Post Merged, Jul 30, 2018 --- I also forgot to add that I am the Vice President of Software Development Club at my School, The President and I work as Interns(not paid just for the experience) for a Hedge Fund. It is a good experience working with some Developers that do this type of stuff for a living. An example of something that we did with the Hedge Fund is there is a Python API for Interactive Brokers which allows you to make trades, They gave my friend and I about 10 years of 1-minute stock data, and I worked on trying to correlate the data with other information. While the President of the Club worked on creating a Neural Network on the first 5 years of the Data and then Ran it on the next 5 years of the Data. We both failed lol which is why we aren't millionaires but it was a great experience to work with some of these other guys, and I also learned quite a bit on how stocks, bonds, and companies work.
