»Annihilation Administration Suggestion

Ok. Anni Administration has always had its issues, and there is an impressive chunk of GC players who are deeply unsatisfied with it. Something needs to change. I'm at the point where I'm going to have to re-quit GC until things do change (and that's after 5 hours being unbanned!).

One of the main things that I have trouble with in Anni is the simple, unavoidable fact that the rules set for players are a trap. Keep in mind, Annihilation is not like KitPVP, where you just respawn with the same stuff when you die. You can work for hours on a set in Anni and lose it in seconds to a hacker or abuser.

Now say I switch enchanter and spend 80 minutes getting perfect p4, sharp V, and a couple god apples and pots. Suddenly a swapper walks up, swaps me to the edge, and then knocks me off. I get no fight. I get no farm. I get nothing.

So, I cuss the guy out, understandably angry at my wasted time. A mod sees and mutes me for 36 hours for my words, effectively ruining my game for the next two days.

How does this make me feel? Toward that abuser? Very angry, hateful even (yeah yeah, the 'ideal' is to be chill about it, but if you are a serious Annihilator then you know how easy that is). How do I feel toward the moderator, who has ruined my game and punished me (effectively supporting the abuser)? Angry... and yes, hateful even.

As a result I don't like that mod. So! A few days later I come back from the servers I've been hanging at -waiting for my mute to wear off- and see Mr. Muter again. Now I've chilled out a bit, and realize that if I wanna get things straight with these people, the best way is to play with them and truce with them. I try to truce, they agree... and then they turn around and jump on me. I call them a jackass... I get muted for staff disrespect.

Who else sees the trap? The staff member did nothing technically 'wrong' in doing this, but the rules cornered me into a position such that 75% of the talkative players in Annihilation would respond as I would, effectively dooming them to a mute.

And it doesn't have to be a swapper abuser. Hackusating at a hacker would get me in the same position! So would DC'ing as I fell into the void!


Now I just want to discuss this with other people. Do agree? Why? Do you not agree? Why not? Do you have any ideas to fix this?

I have a couple ideas to fix this, but I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed this problem.



P.s. Nature045, HenryRocksMC, KinqCake, and Adrian_Abba please do not post on this thread. I know what you have to say, and I don't want to hear anymore of it.

I understand what you are trying to get too but you do not know what is going on "behind the scenes".
Buddy this is just a game.
1)We do not mute/warn because we staff gets some sadistic pleasure of this but beacuse there are players of varied age groups playing and they may quit our server seeing this.
2)Accusing players reduces admins chances to catch and ban hackers.
3)Swapper needs a nerf?
Make a suggestion on it.

 

parle but StoneHeart is right about the abusing part....I mean think about a guy who just disrespects you,a mod who is HIS/HER friend and takes their part,and when you want to say the same thing in chat you get muted by that mod.You can report the player on forums aswell,but if a mod takes someones part it would be unfair.Im just giving an example not saying that a GC mod would do this.But there are servers,where mods are corrupt,dont want to listen to other people opinions,and just mute them.I think that GC is doing good job with the staff,even tho,i hate to say,but I think that the staff who resigned aka Jmoon,llElDiabloll,1mRAAAH,where better.I mean,we still have a lot of awesome staff now aswell,but I just want some of the older staff back.About the accusing,I think the same way.I mean,when I first joined the server,saw a hacker and accused him,I got muted.Didnt know shit about the rules then.Staff should know the new members,and they should warn them,as it is their first time playing.This was the first minecraft server that I played on.And with swapper,I have it,and it does not need a nerf.I miss the good old GC days.....

 

Just move to Kitpvp like i did . TAC working like a charm and helpops are way more effective since its a one small server where it's easier for staff to work unlike anni with 6 servers.

 

After reading this thread, I agree with the Swapper void trap and it needs to be banned, make another suggestion about it and I will support the idea.

I have nothing against you, same as other staff members.
The reason why we mute for hackusation is becuase when you accusing the hacker, and the hacker sees it, he immediately turns off his hacks and we can't ban him, in some cases they don't but still.

If you really want the hacker to be banned, you need to use /helpop, accusing him in public chat will never get him banned, will only get you muted.
Admins see the /helpop and check him, most of the /helpops are false, some of them aren't,

I'm always online and I'm doing my best to check every helpop.

We have rules, and every player should follow them if he wants to play on GC even if you don't like it.

You aren't the only one who rages when someone is swapping him to the void.
I rage a lot especially when I rush and hacker/swapper kills me.

Our rules are changed, warning is only for new players, when you joined the server the rules were different.

 

Well i just tried to farm and got void swapped when i entered the base... i agree with you and i would like swapper's void swap ability to be reconsidered and probably nerfed.
Swappers shouldn't be able to instakill people who has been gearing for about 50 minutes. That's why scorpio towers and void scorpio got removed; void swap is not different from them and should be removed too!

As Kinq and Pebro said above, hackusating will never get the hacker banned, your hackusation will probably HELP the hacker to NOT get banned, and that's why using /helpop is always the best option.

 

Not saying that you guys don't do your job/stuff but most of the times you don't check the helpops. I've seen and been trolled by hackers such as fly hackers, anti-knockback(I kinda remember the guy's name it was something emambo or like that see if you can do anything) god mode hackers ( THE MOST IRRITATING ONE!!!! Sry for caps)killaura,auto-aim etc. I feel like crying everytime first I helpop them and then nobody checks so I call out a staff member whoever is there and tell him/her but the response is always the same - They're playing fair they are you are not so good at PVP so stop complaining or Will do but don't and I get muted. I beg you to please please do something! I also think that the autoban is bugged as my cousin Rwarrior was once autobanned for some hack stuff but he didn't even know how/what those hacks were and how to use them. (He's a nub lol) No hate

 

You can never know if we check them or not, so you can't say "we don't check /helpops".
We always check them, most of the /helpops are false so we don't ban.
Sometimes you might think they hack but they don't. they just better than you in pvp.

 

Wow you said the same thing, so does this mean that I am a nub ;-;. Well you say that now I'm going to test you guys, (Wait don't think that I'm going to hack and see if you guys notice or not, definitely not lol) I'll see what kind of responses I get.

Fly hack, and Godmode are both patched. Godmode got patched in minecraft 1.3.0 and Flyhack is patched on annihilation.
Admins always check helpops when they are online but a high percentage of them are false. You should try recording and reporting them here if you really think someone hacks.

 

Ah I know most almost *ALL* people love to abuse helpop just for fun and make you members angry, seen many dudez getting muted banned and stuff for that . The sad thing is I can't record but the good thing is I can report lol totally forgot that you can report on forums well thanks for reminding me now all the hackers are gonna go down to where they belong!

 

Mind sharing your ideas or suggestions about how we can make anni better? I see your reasoning but what can you give as a possible solution(s)?

 

I also agree that the Swapper void trap should be banned.
I've raged many times over getting Void trapped and being killed by hackers. You wont achieve anything if you swear at them or disrespect them. Just like kinq and Pebro said, hackusating will never get the hacker banned, your hackusation will probably help the hacker to not get banned,
Just helpop them. They will eventually get banned

TIP. Keep a pillow with you and if you get angry, just release your rage on the pillow. (i've never done this)

 

Well I don't have any solutions in mind. I want the autoban thing to be removed cause I think it is possibly bugged. I know it is because one day my cousin Rwarrior was autbanned because of auto-bot aim and killaura but he is doesn't even know about hacks, he stays with me. We play using the same IP, he was banned for nothing but the hackers are not banned they roam around and troll people. I'm sorry that I couldn't give any positive response.

 

I dont see anything wrong with staff members or the situation where people accuses hacker and disrespect staff... But srsly , u can't disrespect a staff... every player (even newcomers) know this rule ... U just simply say like peeps are hacking there and that etc... u got muted , your not happy with it ... then why dont start by following the rules . I got a mute history from @KinqCake and @TheCatsKing ... But hey , they are just following the rules . If your not happy with the rules ... Simple theres a delete server button at multiplayer . Just delete the server if u dont like it ...

And about the idea of nerfing swapper void swap ... There should be a rule like swapper cannot swap if they are 7 blocks from the void 2 prevent god damn void swap and ruining players farm

 

I see what you're trying to say, but the admins are trying to do what we can. As I said in another thread, it's not easy to just see a hacker and be like okay yeah you're done. For hacks like forcefield and other hacks such as that new ore hack going around it's recommended to get proof. I think that for the admins to do a better job, helpop should be changed. If it's possible, /helpop should have a delay and force the player to put the name of a hacker and what they are doing. Even if we need to make some sort of GUI with reasons you have to choose from. Admins have all these problems such as reports not being true. Then the player starts sending that report every 10 seconds and we warn for helpop abuse and sometimes even ban. Then that player gets mad at us because one, we banned him and two, because we didn't ban the "hacker" he saw. I mean just for us to check for xray, we have to go completely invisible and mine our own wood and get a pickaxe then tp to the hacker and go ahead of them, mine down, place the chest, cover it, and wait. This method takes a while and by the time we get our chest and tools, the hacker may be gone or toggled his hacks. That's why I recommended xray catcher kit for admins.

In other words I think the admins should have an easier way to catch hackers, either with a more efficient plugin or new tactics that can help us.

Let the guy express his feelings, it's hard for people to just like after mining and brewing for 50 mins get instantly killed. It has happened to me and oh do I have to say it's very FRUSTRATING(Again sry for caps).

soo i read this and am really really intrested in this topic and wanna start talking with u kind ppl
soo OK i know some ppl here are angry on gc and propably want to leave the server but the thing is u just cant (no offence of like we own u or something xD) but i dare u go to ANY other server and try it u will cry blood over GC
example : i asked ma friendos for a prermium acc and he said yes took the email and pass i tought that GC anni suck (yes i tought so and am really really sry GC u are the greatest) so i said this anni sucks and neonchargegaming show that sb's anni is a sharm so i was like he i go !! i enter sb and what do i find the first thing the lobby is LAGGY !! AF so laggy and the servers are soo annoing there are absolutly no players what's soo ever i was like well let's get deep in it i enter anni chose a kit and played and WTF there is no swearing ban system all u says i HD on the chat they started swearing god of ma religion and it juts was out of controll i cryed blood on the trsure of gc and to add somethign there is NO ADMINS OR MODS TO PLAY THERE WITH U AND TO HAVE FUN AND LAUGH WITH U !!! i was like '' disconnect-------> delete server

GC really cares about other ppl their religions and their feelings also their age (the swearing banning syster) and GC has tons of fun plugins
i used to hate mods and admins i was saying that they are all talk only but when i went to ts and started talking to them they are better than most of the ppl IRL
ik ik viod swapp i think viod swap ruined 10 or 20 of ma OP farms and ppl laughs at u when dieing by void WTF it's soooo raging and yes swappper NEED a nerf but about the staffs and rules i cant agree more with what we have NOW
