just a quick poll to see how many people think hackusations in chats should be allowed for annihilation server, because many of us aren't happy with getting muted for it.
Sorry, rules are rules, you all have already been warned so many times since we even added announcements in game about 'Don't accuse' but you guys keep doing it. There won't be any changes just because you 'fell annoyed' even when you broke the rules.
If you accuse hackers, they might leave the game or toggle their hacks, so it will be hard for admins to check them. That's why accusing is not allowed. Please use /h (/report) to report hackers. If you think admins aren't online, you can record a video and report on the forum. I hope you will understand this.
let me lay out some of the issues with hackusation cons: 1. unfair for some players who aren't hacking but seem like they are 2. "harassment of other players" 3. actual hackers run away and admins can't check. 4. possible spam? pros: 1. your teammates and other teams know who to avoid if they don't want to pvp someone using killaura. 2. you know which team to avoid if you're trying to invis rush because you won't risk getting muted for saying "xrayer" 3. where are the admins when we need them to check hackers? 4. some people aren't aware of buffs that other kits have (eg. scout's extra range), and muting them for accusing isn't helping them.
but on the other hand, if your rationale for not allowing accusing is that they will leave the game/not let admins find out they're hacking, is muting someone who accuses in team chat allowed?
And what if your team8 is hacking, common dude ._. I guess that you got muted when you post this, right ?
then don't be the idiot that announces in team chat that your teammate's hacking? because then your teammate might avoid getting banned? and that isn't good? because that defeats the purpose of calling out his hacks? if you know that your teammate is hacking then surely whoever got killed from other teams because of his hacks will know, and its up to them whether they want to warn their own team about the hacker in my team. come on, dude. read between the lines and infer .___. and you're wrong, i wasn't muted when i posted this, though i was muted a few days ago for calling out a hacker in all chat. and yes, i deserve that mute.
yes i get that rules are rules, but im questioning the rationale behind those rules. im trying to understand why hackusation results in a ban, because right now in some instances, it doesn't make sense to get a mute for saying 'hax' or something similar. i don't always accuse, and it isn't the sole reason why i made this post.
so you'd rather not have the hypothetical situation of everyone in your team spamming chat and saying "abc using xray, hacker -.-" rather than actually know that someone is using a hack so you can avoid them?
because you want to warn your teammates about hackers? only admins can see helpop, and they aren't always on the server to ban hackers. so maybe sometimes you need to let your teammates know who to avoid if they don't want to get killed. as i have been saying in my previous few replies.
???? did you really take it to be the other meaning of warn which does not apply in this context? i meant warn as "to inform someone in advance of a possible danger, problem, or other unpleasant situation". not its alternate meaning, "to give someone cautionary advice about their actions or conduct." credits: google search.
