    Hi,

ill comment on every point separately since that is more clear.
    1. To be honest in my opinion you should read the rules when joining a server. So saying “I don’t know the rules” shouldn’t be an excuse. Don’t get me wrong I see where you are coming from, but knowing that every server has different rules would make me the rules before joining a game. just like staff should have common sense so should have players. Yes some rules are different from other servers and you wouldn’t expect those, but in my opinion swearing at someone or harassing someone is pretty much common sense. You don’t tell someone to kill themselves and go “well I didn’t know it was a rule” I mean it’s pretty obvious that it isn’t allowed.
    2. I get that this is unfair. However you could also just ignore the player (/ignore <playername>) or report it to a staff member. You might not see something mutable in it, but we might be able to mute for it anyways(depending on the situation ofcourse).
    3. Back to the point of reading the rules before joining a server. I know the punishment is harsh if you didn’t intend on advertising a server, but we got pretty clear rules about advertising. It’s just not allowed. If the player that gets banned makes a unban request and explains the situation there we might unban the player. We obviously won’t always unban, but in some cases it’s pretty clear that the persons intention wasn’t to advertise. I don’t know about other Head-Admins, but I personally would give the person a unban and warn them to not do it again.
    4. Yeah straight up honest you are completely right about this one. If the mod or admin would have explained the player what the word means he probably wouldn’t have said it again. I agree with you that this shouldn’t have been a mute.

There will be some rules changes soon again and I’ll try to make some stuff more clear there. Hopefully this will solve some of the problems. The idea of having a book with the rules in lobby also isn’t bad and this should indeed be considered!

    1. I agree with you that people should read the rules. But players who never played on a server before may or may not know there is a warp where they can read the rules. 3 years ago I joined guildcraft and if I remember correctly I had no idea there was a warp for rules. I also agree that players who have bad intentions deserve a punishment without warning.

    2. I have changed my mind on it, I think you got a good point

    3. I agree but why does the ban have to be permanent and not for example 1 month? (IF the player had no intention of promoting a server other than asking a friend to join)

To all staff: I appreciate your efforts of replying to my post.
I see that even within the staff team there are many different opinions.
Once again to make my point clear,

To all staff below head-admin I will say: please use common sense more, ofcourse you have to follow guidelines most of the time, but if it's really unfair to do a certain ban or mute, then don't do it. Do not be so scared of getting demoted, a good staff member does not follow the guidelines 100% strictly and blindly.

To the head-admins and above: let me repeat, I think it will really help to automatically give all new players a book with rules. Or set the spawnpoint for new players at the rule/information board.

I mean you don't go to a real job blindly, there needs to be some training involved. Much like a real job, you need to learn somehow. Should we take said previledges from a competent HA if a new one 1. doesn't know how to use X and Y commands, plugins, etc. and 2. isn't willing to spend the time to learn? Doesn't seem fair and is just generally not a good way to handle a server. After all, this is Minecraft, but after all people spend money here so I guess it should be delt a little bit more carefully and with more thought.

You pretty much just answered it yourself, "it's aXed not responding". I wonder why he only responds very couple of weeks at a time, it's 110% fine with me if he doesn't care about the server anymore and wants to move on with his life, that's fine and I think everyone would understand that. However, you have to agree with me on this one: if the "old" shop (that received payments from players but didn't give in-game-perks to the respective players) was open for a couple of weeks (or maybe even months) because axed (let's be real) was too careless to shut the store down, that's kinda weird.
Also, where did the money (that players sent buying perks and such) go? Did xph receive it? Did axed receive it? Was it refunded to players? If axed, that's 100% totally greedy.

Believe me, if I screenshoted everytime a staff member breaks a rule I would send you on discord and 15-20% of the staff would get demoted.

Props to you I guess, at least youre answering the community and putting some work into the server.

There are players who purchased (at least) keys in the old store, by mistake, and had to purchase it again within the new store. This also included for a Tier 1 unban, which my friend had to pay twice (although, THAT time ONLY he got a refund)

I'll just state a simple summary of how I think and feel about your suggestions

    1. First of, yes, the players who recently joined the server may not understand the rules and its very contradictory for new rules to appear out of no where especially one that does not follow GC Discord updates as it only usually appears there and not on the Forums immediately when on effect.

If the GC staff team who have privileges of modifying, creating or removing such rules should consider stated above which I believe is why warnings are issued first when the new/modified rules are in place, regardless if a player is new or not.

    - However, to combat this, I suggest implementing a message link whenever someone logs in. It can either be a Discord or Forum Rules link. With that, GC can be stern on rules, and no one can get away by saying 'i didn't know the rules' UNLESS that person does not understand English.

    2. Just like most other people voicing out, there were some points which I agreed and disagree, especially the n-word one. It is too easy to be abused, especially when its scripted, and we may never know. In 2020, racism is becoming a more sensitive issue and being stern about it does not hurt, especially when being muted isn't the end of the world.

    3. Just want to end off by saying that I am glad to see that everyone is coming together to debate open discussions like this. Its really admirable.
