    What type of bug: At some places I cannot place saplings on dirt.

    They dont need light to be placed down.

    In skyblock that occurs when there is a torch, block, sign or something near the sapling or there isnt light. So try to add a torch near to it, not next maybe they have a plugin that change that mechanic.
