»Blatantly stolen suggestion

Stole this directly from another server which I won't name here. It's a big server so you all know it.

Toxic behavior is harmful to the community. It can hurt some people's feelings, but more often it's actually harmful to the toxic person themselves, causing them to miss out on friendships because people avoid them due to their behavior. People can only judge you on what you say, because no one here truly knows you. Toxic behavior of the player base has also been mentioned as a primary factor in the lack of development and progress on the server as a whole.

Mutes and bans have proven ineffective long term against this problem. Players with several hundred mutes on their record aren't uncommon. The worst offenders just don't care if they're muted, and it doesn't accomplish anything. Muting the most toxic players takes up a lot of staff time and sometimes results in even worse behavior from other players who are triggered by the mute. It's a cycle of negative emotion that doesn't stop.

Solution: Word filters are usually ineffective, as they result in players finding a way around them, and 1000 people typing P3N1S in chat. This is a bit different: take the most common toxic comments, stuff like ez, kid, gg lol, your mom, etc etc. Filter it into list of ridiculous comments. Next time someone says "gg mate u got raped", the chat message is "I watched a great cat video on TikTok just now".

It's not as easy to implement across all in game chat services as it seems, but I have confidence it can be done. The filter list would have to be more adaptive, not a static list. People will definitely try to find ways around it, so diligence and updates in the future would be critical. Most importantly, I think it would help to change GC from one of the more toxic places in the MC world to some place normal people would like to visit.

This is honestly the most sad suggestion I have ever seen, if somebody gets affected over somebody's words who they don't even know they shouldn't be on the game.

We technically have ToxicChat which kind of relates to this suggestion. It "filters" the words but sends the msg to this "no one ever asked for" ToxicChat. But yeah, it's something we can consider
