»I'm being blamed for everything

This is the last you'll hear from me on GC so read carefully.

I have been lately blamed for bots, ddoses and what not. I wasn't active lately because of a surgery I had and I'm still recovering.
But I've been sent some screenshots of people saying "Im Germanode" on discord and in game and doing random drama and spam. This is the reason I'm writing this post.

I don't deny manually spamming the chat occasionally back in the day when Jacky20 was HeadAdmin in order to get staff promoted a bit faster. Which worked.

But now this is getting out of hand. I'm being blamed for bot attacks (which I never did) and threatened with legal actions and what not because of some bots.

Especially by tbi - upon explaning to him that I'm not behind any bots, he instantly blocked me, looking like he's affraid of me or something.

I'd like to explain one more thing for the future - If you want to press legal charges against someone on the internet, according to EU law, make sure to have the right person in the first place and to officially warn them, via email or mail, to stop with what they are doing. Those are two requirements to press any charges. (I graduated in law)

I'd like to stop being blamed for bots, spamming, ddos, etc. I am not behind it. In the past, I did some manual spamming with one alt at a time which everyone knows. But now, it seems this became a trend and everyone is doing it - coming on, doing shit and saying it's Germanode. I've seen screenshots of this crap today.

P.s. Good luck, Reaper. Regardless of me disliking you as a person, I think you might do good as head. Especially with events which players love.

I wouldn't blame you for anything, but honestly I can see why others do it - however I find those reasons dumb. I agree, that it wasn't you who did those, as I know you; and what I've found out so far you're a really nice and mature guy. So no worries, your name is clear on my book

But yes, spamming the chat was kind of dumb thing of you to do but....

Let me just correct you. It is illegal to contact the suspect of an investigation as this falls foul of tip-off legislation. This isn't some shitty copyright infringement where you are sent a cease and desist letter hoping you stop. No, this is an illegal criminal activity.

Any business worth their would collect the logs and report this to the law enforcement agency of their local country. What happens next I hear you ask?

The ISP is compelled via court order to release the details held against the user of the offending IP at the time of the attack. Once enough evidence is collected to question the suspect, a warrant is requested by the courts and your property is seized for inspection by forensic examiners. This is why tip-offs are illegal. Don't want you deleting all the juicy info on your computer do we now.

Used a VPN? Oh dear! Court order in due course to release the payment information used to purchase it. Then read the paragraph above.

Used a free VPN? Oh dear! Court order in due course to release the IP which requested use of the VPN. Read the second paragraph above.

I can't believe you graduated in law and don't know this shit. I'm not even a lawyer.

I'll be explaining the difference between a felony, misdemeanor and an infraction in this case.

You are talking about an attack. What attack? I never botted Gc. Using automated scripts to bot, spam or ddos is obviouly illegal and results in what you are describing (misdemeanor or in some cases a felony).

However, manually pasting shit in the survival chat isn't a misdemeanor or a felony because it isn't done with an automated script (automated is illegal).
Let me give a real-life example for better understanding: Imagine someone coming into a store and shouting some song lyrics. It isn't illegal at all - but a security guard would probably escort you out + can officially tell you not to ever return in some countries. YouTubers do it all the time in Wallmart. If you do it again after the official warning or resist the security guard, that's another thing. But as long as you leave with the official warning, you're good + as long as you listen to the guards' orders.
If you do the same thing on public property, you can face a fine around 80€ (depending on the EU country) for indecent behaviour on public property but that's about it (infraction).

(Notice the "Disturbing the peace" part)

Now for my "shouting" case - No one has ever told me to leave in an official manner - I never heard it from Elise, aXed + staff mostly laughed at the alts. I won't point fingers but one of the staff members even participated in the chat pasting and encouraged me to do it.
The only case where I was ever told not to do it by a staff member was when (name censored) told me over discord "Do it tomorrow, I'm watching a movie rn". I happily obliged and did what I was asked. That day I did not return.

Additionally, logs in bot or ddos attacks aren't collected by a company. They are collected by the investigators to avoid fake evidence. A full disk image is created for every disk affected, with the use of write blockers to avoid data changes.

I think I know damn well why I never botted, DDoSed or used any automated scripts to paste things on GC.

All this isnt about me wanting a darn official "please leave". I already left on my own a while ago! Did you not read my initial post? But I'm still getting blamed for everything that is happening on GC atm (bots, ddoses and everything else). Especially because people come on, do drama and pretend its me... Get the point?

And then some tbi guy comes by, accuses me of all sorts of illegal shit and threatens me with legal action. For fucking what? + Fox up there was also basically implying that he thinks I am doing it.
