Hello, lately I have gained a lot of knowledge and experience about factions (considering I play professional and successful faction servers). I really want this faction reset on Guildcraft to become as good as possible, therefore I thought I'd put together a post of suggestions and improvements. IMPORTANT Optimization Let's start off with one of the most important things the server will have to work on: The server has to be more optimized, by this I mean the following; find the causes of lag that might occure at times, optimize cannoning so people can actually use fast and big cannons to raid bases. Better cannoning means that there will be way more competition between factions, which will improve the server by a lot and give the players a better playing experience. Schematica , printer One of the most important thing on a faction server is schematica + printer. As far as I'm aware schematica is indeed allowed in the server BUT printer has been disabled. To improve the competition on the server and make it way better we should definitely enable printer, I will explain the reason for that now: If printer is enabled this means people can build bases and especially cannons really fast. If people don't have to put AS much effort into building a cannon they will start to raid more (which will, again, improve competition on the server by a lot) Printer Mode When you enable printer you can also put developers to work on the following project: /printer mode. This will do the following: you will basically be able to type /printer on to enable a certain mode which will give you multiple departments in your inventory (Cannoning, Base building, farming, etc). You can select one of these departments and you enable your printer mod and the plugin will automatically buy all the materials needed from the shop. I have recorded this plugin to showcase it: Economy Try to balance out the economy as much as possible (this means that you shouldn't have certain things that make insane amounts of money and will basically break the economy). Make it so the economy is based around a certain way of making money. (for example through huge cactus farms and Iron Golem spawners) SMALL BUT USEFUL ADDITIONS Sell wand A sell wand is basically a stick named "Sell wand" which you can buy in the /shop. This makes it so when you hit a chest (for example filled with cactus), it will automatically sell everything inside it and give you the money. This is, as you can probably imagine, way easier than having to manually sell everything. Disguises We should also implement disguise keys into our buycraft shop. Disguise keys are crate keys which you can open, and when you open these you will receive 1 random disguise. A disguise can for example be a wolf, a spider, a cow and way more. When you receive one of these you can do /disguise and select the disguise you own which will turn you into that specific disguise and your name tag will be hidden. (When you get into ct you will transform back though, otherwise this would be really over powered). Not only will this obviously give our network more income but it is also really useful to hide yourself during raids and so on. Upgrading the faction plugin The faction plugin should be upgraded, by this I mean we should add /f perms to the faction plugin as well as /f bank. With /f perms you can basically select whatever you want people in your faction to be able to do, I will post a picture below as an example: https://imgur.com/a/G90xg /f probably speaks for itself, this is basically a faction bank which factions can deposit or withdraw money into/from. Outposts An outpost basically works the same as a KOTH, but there are a few differences: An outpost is 24/7, this means it is on at any time of the day. From capping the outpost you get certain rewards (for example 20k every 5 minutes and a 50% increased drop rate on your spawners). This will bring way more competition into the server because people will want to cap the outpost and fight for it with other factions. Chunk loaders Add chunk loaders to the buycraft. A chunkloader is basically a block which you can place and when you place it next to spawners it will load all the spawners in the entire chunk from bedrock to skylimit. F top prizes Try doing a paypal f top prize for the top faction, this doesn't have to be a ridicilous amount of money, even a small amount is fine. This will make way more people play the serve because they wanna compete to win this paypal prize. If you are unable to do a paypal prize, think about doing a high buycraft f top prize which will convince people to play your server. Chunk buffer limit Put a maximum of a 20 chunk buffer (this means from the first wall to the last one) which is equal to 160 walls. Insiding Make insiding bannable, this way people can recruit people to their faction without worrying about being insided. It's just a thing which ruines the player's experience so we should just get rid of it. If people suggest useful things in the comments of this thread I will add them in my post.
Add mounthly crates where you can get temp or perm kits and titles maybe some oby or titan sets. Keep the mob stacking plugin. Pls dont add custom enchants cause the main reason ppl are playing is that the pvp is "old school" i guesse idk just dont add custom enchants. Make so you can buy a row of pots or a full inv in shop. Also pls keep /shop. And dont make the world border 8k 8k. Only ftop bases will cover 2k. So uhh i hope you listen to me or spank spank and ya boi klin klin is out. They should also add Noxious tokens oh no wait guildcraft tokens. taking all the above into consideration you want guildcraft to be noxiousv2.I don't disagree with any of these but almost every server nowadays has all these functions
That's exactly the whole point of it..... If you wanna have a successful faction server nowadays you will have to fit in and take certain things from other servers to be successful. It's not just Noxious, these are just basic things EVERY faction server should have to be successful.
Make insiding bannable so we can p2w peacefully and not have kids ruining the whole game and wasting our money for nothing.
Insiding is part of factions,thats why you have to trust someone before promoting him, or maybe axed can just upgrade the fac plugin(will never happen )to make insiding harder.
1. allowed to fly in enemy territory 2. fee for mining spawners (stop those waste of time raids where they just pull down the spawners for free) 3. no sethome on any land that doesnt belong to wilderness or your faction. if ally you can sethome on ally land
Hackers If we want a successful reset we need to get a better anti-cheat or more staff. In only 1 day i found over 10+ hackers. And hackers at the start of the reset can ruin everything.
That's a pretty convenient idea fam. Gl I agree with your statement. Its better to have a good faction reset than having a faction that people aren't going to enjoy. So +1
Hey, just wanted to say that these suggestions are good and are working well as far as I know! I haven't actually seen this post till now but it looks like most of it has been/is being worked on.
