    are you within 6 blocks of the spawner?

    You need to be at least 5 or 6 blocks close to the spawner for it to spawn the mobs.

    No, they aren't. They work fine for me.
    You must be in a radius within 6 blocks. Maybe you could show your grinder?

    Yes it had some problems in loading chunks, so this can happen often.
