A simple definition is that people change, but mostly gain maturity according to nature, by growing up. If you have changed in the same age or acting less immature, that's obviously possible but less likely than to change by aging.

You'll change from time to time, no matter what. But changing in the same or a little time period is the real noticeable thing.
