As you could tell Today im gonna be making a pvp guide to all the people out there who need help with their pvp skills!

1) Strafing: Strafing is one of the most efficient ways to win against an opponent.What your basically doing is doing ring-around-the-Rosie with your enemy. Jumping up and down is not a smart way to go because when you jump your feet is closer to your enemy then your sword is to hitting them, leading them to achieving combos. You have to move in all directions. Jump over them, fake that your turning left and as soon as he/she goes left you go right etc. NOTICE: Speed 1 and 2 potions can help you get around them more quickly and confuse them even more!

RATING: 8/10 -Strafing is useful but can sometimes back fire making
you confused as well-

2) Block Hitting: Block hitting is also very useful when fighting your opponent. What your basically doing is spamming left click and right click on your mouse. This reduces the damage that your opponent does and can lead to really good combos. NOTICE: Block hitting and strafing do NOT go together! Block hitting slows down your speed and if you strafe it can be very easy for your enemy to catch up on you and hit you down pretty good.

RATING : 6/10 -Block Hitting is very useful especially when your trapped in a corner but the fact that you lose speed can be ear-splitting-

3) Bow: Yeah you know what it is....you get some arrows and BOOM you got a weapon but what can a bow possibly good for....well the answer is bow spamming! It can be really annoying for your enemy and do some knock back leading too combos. This can also make your opponent retreat and give yourself time to re-pot, take a breather, etc.

RATING: 3/10 -To be honest a bow isn't all that useful. Yes it can do some damage depending on your armor but it can make you totally vulnerable to people-

4) Potions: Potions are basically THE most important thing in pvp in damage wise, fun wise, and usefulness wise. Potions are buffs that can give a player special ability such as strength speed and regeneration. It also has debuffs such as slowness poison and weakness. NOTICE: Potions come in 2 forms: bottles and splash potions. They both are the same but they have different advantages. Bottle potions take time to drink (about 2-3 seconds) which could make you vulnerable. But helps the potion effect buy 1. It makes the effect last longer and 2. it takes less ingredients. Splash potions you can simply click and they will be thrown in the direction they are thrown at. This is good because it says time but it has less time of the effect on it. For Example: If you had a speed 1 potion. If you had a bottle potion of speed 1 it would last for 8 minutes. If you had a splash potion of speed 1 it would last for 6 minutes.

RATING: 10/10 -Potions are
extremely helpful. As you could tell!

5) FISHING RO Fishing rods can be great for a nice calm day at the pond, trying to get some fish. But in pvp its surprisingly helpful. Fishing rods have a bunch of tricks that can lead to combos, potion loss, and DEATH!! Anyway, one of the most popular tricks people use is shooting your fishing rod at them while they are charging in on you. This is called Fishing Rod Stun.

: 4/10 -Sadly fishing rods are not that helpful. But in pvp everything counts-



6) ENDER PEARLS: Ender pearls are circular pearls that can be thrown and be teleported to the place with was thrown too. This is very helpful in pvp when your hot bar doesn't have any potions left in it. You can throw a pearl and give yourself time to repot, take a breather etc. NOTICE: Its likely that your opponent is gonna chase you while you regroup. So be fast. You really need fast reflexes in pvping.

RATING: 7/10 -Ender Pearls are OP in pvp but remember that they will likely chase you down. So be fast!!

7) HOT BAR: The hot bar is the 9 slots that are on the bottom of the screen while your playing minecraft. In pvp its very important for your hot bar to be organized. Your sword should always be in your 1st slot. Its easy to hot key the 1 key on your keyboard because its the closest key number to your W,A,S,D keys. Don't understand? Here:

1st Slot: Sword

2nd Slot: Bow (optional)

3rd Slot: Ender pearls or Food.

4th Slot: Ender pearls or food (Pick one for both)

5th Slot: Potion

6th Slot: Potion

7th Slot: Potion

8th Slot: Potion

9th Slot: Fishing Rod or Potion

RATING: 10/10 -Theres nothing wrong with not being prepared for a battle :3

EXTRA

PING: Ping is a measurement of how long it takes things to actually do things! For Example: If you typed something in chat and it took a while for the message to actually go on chat that means you have bad ping. (100-500 ms) Ping can be useful in combat because it determines how fast you hit an an enemy.
WTFAST can be a useful download to help boost your ping. NOTICE: Do not download and use for minecraft is servers do not allow it. (www.wtfast.com)


CLICK SPEE Clicking Speed is very helpful in hitting people too. Minecraft can only register a certain amount of hits so don't click too fast or you'll tire your self out. Different kinds of computers can actually change the click speed (also called track speed) of your mouse like macs.

COMBOS: Combos are chains of hits that you can get on your opponent without getting hit. This can be very useful in pvp and there is a lot of ways to achieve combos. One way is you can spam W and A on your key board leading to a 5 second combo (5-11 hits) Another way is spamming w on your keyboard. The different speeds you go confuses your enemy and makes their aim go off balance.

HOT KEYING: Hot keying is when you use the 0-9 numbers on your your keyboard with out taking your finger off the other controls. It seems hard but when you get used to it it'll be easy as pie! Hot keying is very handy when you need to potion up with healing potions quicker. Its especially helpful when your using the SOUP PLUGIN. It is a plugin where mushroom soup is used as healing potions.

CORNERING: Corning your opponent is actually quite handy when in pvp for 2 main reasons: (of course there's other ones be these are the main ones)
1. They are trapped in a concentrated spot which means they cant strafe around you but you can strafe them.
2. You can crit the living fudge out of them because when you crit them they don't go flying everywhere.

CRITICALS: Also called "crits," criticals is the act of a player jumping up and downing while hitting their opponent while doing extra damage. NOTICE: Criticals only occur when your falling DOWN and hitting your opponent not while your jumping UP. Criticals can do up to 50% more damage on impact. But be careful not to over do critical hitting because when your jumping up it causes knock-back when the enemy hits you which is not good.

TERRAIN: In fact, the terrain can be used to your advantage when you ignite in pvp. If your in a hill biome. Always get below your opponent because when your above them, your feet is closer to them then your sword's reach is to them. Which leads them to an unimaginably large amount of hits on you. Same thing for when your in the ocean. And if they are on a ledge or a cliff, knock them right off the edge and do some fall damage to them!

theory alone won't help

 

Theres a LOT more to pvp then just that. w tapping, aiming, agressive pearls, potting when to str8 line...etc etc

To everyone who wants to be good at pvp: Get a decent computer, normal internet and just start pvping.

 

Yes i can agree. I am good at pvp , just that i have a toaster pc that can not even run forge and does not have openGL 2.... I also have internet that can runs 300 mbps as well, my pc just sucks

Block hitting actually works on 1.8 If you are a fast handed player
It works on rich kids also that there is numbers on there mouse instead of scroll

Im just pressing same time the Number 2 and right clikc to do a block hit

Block hit on 1.8 can give you also less kb so its useful

 

Ping doesn't prove anything
But if you have 1 bar to 2 bars quit pvp
