»How to make an appropriate application!

Hello People,

As you can see from the topic name, This is a topic made by me and possible better edits from other staff members to help you make a good application. Some people don't know what to put in the motivation field and in my time, I had no clue about it until Flockshot showed me his motivation in the school for an idea, At that point Flockshot was there to help me but I was lucky and most of the people aren't so I've made this topic to help you with your application. In this topic we will cover all the elements of a good application.

1. Why do you want to become staff?

This is a very important point. While you're making your motivation, tell us why you want to achieve it. Explain your experiences in the server you're applying for and how you can make them better. Explain it in detail and not in just a few words, after all making your motivation larger and more explained has higher chances instead of the small ones.

2. If you can dream it, you can do it!

You need to show confidence in your motivation. If you are denied a few times do not loose courage because after all failure will never overtake if your determination to success is high.Use better Vocabulary and do not go off-topic while making it. When I applied for [mod] for Prison, I needed to make 4 Applications until I was accepted. I'm still thankful to Amethyst for giving me a chance.

3. Explain yourself.

In your motivation, don't just keep it limited to the server, add some info about yourself. This does not mean your physical traits but your personality and why you're best suited for the job. We would never consider you otherwise, would we?

4. Do not blame anyone else.

If you think the server needs you because the current staff are bunch of loosers and aren't completing their job, Mate you better reconsider. You've to keep the fact in mind that GC's every server is pretty popular and many people have to be taken care of at a time.This looks easy but once you start doing it, you start facing the difficulties, 5 People Messaging you, 3 People flooding, 2 people swearing ( Has happened to me once ), In such confusion staff may miss someone and that's where your role comes, do not blame the staff but understand their feelings and simply report at the forums so we can take care of it.

5. Length

As I also stated before, Your motivation must be well explained and in detail, this doesn't mean adding off-topic things and making it look large. You should keep it well explained and on-topic so other staff will have a good impression on you.

5. Good Relations

Before you start making your application, You should make good relations with the other staff so when you apply they can support you in a positive way, friend politics are not allowed in applications but making good relations with other staff members may convince the Head to accept you.

6. Stay Active on Forums and on the Server

If you're applying for staff, make sure you're active on the server you're applying for and you should be active on the forum too. However, this doesn't mean you should spam the forums, be sensible and post topic-related posts instead of going off-topic.

7. Do not apply too frequently

If you get denied, It is recommended that you wait for 1-2 weeks before you re-apply. If your frequency is high, you'll have a bad impression on others and that's the last thing we want.

8. Do not lie or start any kind of drama

If the head-admin asks something from you in the comments, do not lie, not at all. No matter how worse the situation is, don't lie. Be honest and don't start a drama, I hope you get what I mean.

9. Do not share your account.

Make sure that you do not share your account with anyone else if you're applying for staff. If you're caught sharing accounts you'll be demoted or in the worse scenario, banned.

10. Do not bump your application.

Thanks to @PaddyWagon . Do not bump your applications via comments or through the cancel button. Once you've applied, keep faith in yourself and wait until it's your turn. You've to kee pin mind that Guildcraft get's around 500 applications everyday and it's very hard to keep track of them and reply to every one of them. Also, Once you've applied, do not ask other staff members to comment on it, you must wait until it's your turn.

11.Make your motivation in sequence

Thanks to @bdboyer , when you're making your motivation, make sure you make it in sequence explaining everything instead of posting random events. Make it lengthy and well explained but in an organized way so the people on the other side can read and understand it.

12. Some Common Grammar Mistakes

Once again, Thanks to @bdboyer . I'll list down some common grammatical mistakes will will let you improve your application.

Hi Honey , very nice explain of the way to apply , i'm new here and i read some of your post's and they are very well written and direct to the point as explicit , i was never a staff member , but in other games that i play i usually help new players in the way i can because i was a "noob" too and some one help me and give me a hand , so in the way of keep what was taught to me i do the same and is in my nature help the new guy that is ignored by "op players" and "and those who do not want to bodder with". And sorry for my bad english im from Portugal , i would like to apply to staff if i can .

 

Never gonna get accepted but in 3 months time I will apply and this is the app I'm using @Honey thanks
