First off, I want to note that I make this thread as an Annihilation player. My points here are directed to Annihilation and Annihilation staff.

    @aXed

This message is written to you directly. I once voiced a valid complaint and you listened; please, do not ignore me. This is critically important. Not only for me but for dozens -hundreds- of players on GuildCraft.

As a fair starting note, I will say that I am posting this due to a major run-in with the Annihilation Admin KinqCake.

Get one thing straight, before you get the wrong attitude toward this. I'm not a the stupid, toxic kid that all of your admins see me as. I virtually never make a insinuating or rude comment that is not built off of my problems with the server and my own values. If you can't take that for face value, just try to distance yourself from the writer and take this post for the facts it contains.

GuildCraft rules are a trap. They're also illogical in the extreme.

The number one rule that is trapping players is 'do not hackusate'.

To put it simply: the person who made this rule never played against hackers for very long. I have played Annihilation for almost 2 years. In total, on all my servers, I have 33 kits and over half a million EXP. I have fought innumerable hackers.

There are three kinds of hackers in Annihilation.

Server Hackers: Players who hack accounts and work on involved server hacks. Obviously when such a hacker hacks an account they can do whatever they want -not caring if the person is banned. Server hacks are nasty pieces of work that GuildCraft has seen very few -if any- of. Another server I know has had hackers that could kick all players within 20 blocks or cordon off sections of an Annihilation map to be inaccessible to all but they themselves.

PVP Hackers: These hackers use the obvious, commonly seen hacks such as Killaura, Range, Autocrit, No-Slowdown... (etc.).

Hidden Hackers: Players who play a lot and use various small hacks -and illegal mods- to give themselves a boost over other players. These include hacks such as X-Ray, ChestFinder, Mini-Map w/entities...(etc.). In a fight -or just watching them- you wouldn't usually guess these players hacked.

Now I've fought all three kinds of hackers and hackusated at ALL three kinds.

What happens when you hackusate at a Server Hacker? They could care less! What can you do about it? They find it funny to screw your game up and hear you rage! This is a no exception rule: Server hackers NEVER care about hackusaters.

And what about PVP Hackers? They don't care either. I have fought an easy 500 plus PVP hackers, and have hackusated at at least half of them. NEVER has one turned off his/her hacks following a hackusation. Never. I've never even heard of it happening. Creating a 'no hackusation' rule off of hackusation directed at such hackers is logic without experience. (Note: This does NOT apply to very small servers {<50})

And Hidden Hackers? Same thing! They don't care! People hackusate so much -whether their subject is a hacker or not- that when someone hackusates at them it's just a 'you're pro' comment. They do not care. Putting a hackusation rule such as GuildCraft's actually makes it more likely for such a hacker to turn off their hacks following a hackusation -seeing as they're the only ones who specifically don't want to IP-Mask and return every few weeks.

Ok. So let's step into a GuildCraft Annihilation Round! I select enchanter kit, enter red team, get my iron and then go start mining gold. At level 29 a hacker controls into the mine in shift and beats me to death from across the room.

I'm mad so I snap 'hacker' in team chat. A split second later I'm muted for twelve hours and the hacker continues to run free! My game is ruined -seeing as I love to play with my teammates- so I quit GC and go play somewhere else for the rest of the day.

This situation is comparable to something like this: A little boy has a banana. His brother comes up and steals his banana, knocking him over. Little brother is mad and attacks big brother. Dad walks in mid-fight and breaks them up. Explanations come across as 'he stole my banana', 'he bit me'... blah blah blah. Dad is irritated and doesn't care to get involved and actually fix the problem so he says 'I've told you not to fight in the house; both of you go to your rooms'.

Blahm! Both the kid who got beat up -and lost his banana- and the bully are punished equally! (Oh, but "a hacker can't just leave their room in a hour or so": WRONG! IP Mask > New Name > Back before the hackusater's mute is out!).

    Is this fair?

You answer for yourself. My analogy is not that far fetched.

GuildCraft moderator's enforce rules they do not understand, on players they do not care about, with no wish to fix the root of the problem.

I repeat: This rule is wrong. Every day dozens of players are muted for breaking it and GuildCraft pays for it in dozens of players lost every week and it earns nothing in return.

Now, aXed, I can see only two ways you can view this point of mine. A: "The rules are fine" -GC can pay a few players every year (what about them? -big deal). B: "This rule is unfair to players" -It needs to be removed.

Depending on your response, I will assume one of two things. If you don't care to change the rules, whether they're unfair or not, then you are the theme-park owner who's in it for the just the money and could care less about the minority that is abused by the system. I know a fair number of server owners that are like this: I don't play on those servers.

If you do care then you're the theme park owner who has created something to share with the world and give space for people to enjoy themselves. Due to the fact you listened to my complaint once, I assume you are the second: But the fact you have not noticed this problem yourself has given me doubts.

On a minor note: GuildCraft moderator's have become so ridiculously picky about the rules that is has become borderline ridiculous. Abbreviating the eff-word to just a plain 'f' will get you a 24 hour mute. In fact, the situation that led to my most recent ban was started by a 36 hour mute on an abbreviated cussword.

Now aXed, I could say a lot about GuildCraft rules and administration -yes, even more than this. I will keep this simple to see if I can get something to change.

Keep in mind: I only say this because I care. I enjoy GuildCraft and I love playing here: I do not want to have to quit because the moderation is so hopeless.

Also: I know that no system is perfect; which is why I am making a specific point with a specific solution! A system can only be improved with effort: this is a first step and an important one!

[Players who agree with me: Upvote -and if aXed hasn't replied, tag him for me!]

[Moderators/ Administrator's who cannot change the system themselves: Keep your comments to yourselves!]

[Administrator's who can actually do something to help this: Please, don't hate me for who you perceive me to be: Give me the simple 'can be done' or 'you're screwed']

Hacking: Accusing in public and TEAM chat is against the rules, accusing can limit the chance of a hacker getting caught.... WHY DONT YOU USE HELPOP?!?!!??!?!?! It notifies admins in ANY anni game :l
Hackers are usually banned by autoban or a admin. Just because you say this player dosnt mean hes hacking ether.

All mods are taught on how to deal with situations. and are required to follow a guideline that Asy and axed made.

Granted, it may be ideal for a player to just helpop the hacker @Marine4121, but when they don't -whether they know how to, are really angry, aren't certain or whatever- they are crushed by a rule that only is applicable to one in three hundred cases.

+1 @Marine4121 becoz when u accuse Them Ofc They Will have To stop using hacks becoz they knew that u called them hackers
and they will be scared of admins so the chanse of caughting hackers will be low

@VivaLaVida Do not cut my statements to pieces to be pissed upon by you haters! I've had enough of that for a lifetime. This thread was made to bring a problem to the attention of valid authority and not to post your 'Stoneheart hate'.

Saying "Hacker" "[Player] is hacking" in team or global chat Is muteable for accusing.

    Why
Why do you hate and criticise so many people ? Just what is your problem ? Just Because you are well known doesn't mean you are greater than other person and you always always always hate on the minority and take the side off yhe staff

Admins have /msg to msg players that keep helpoping so they know theres a admin online.
Reason why regular players dont have /msg is because they can use it to communicate with other teams and tell them when no one is defending etc.

stoneheart i know how you are,
you are also not one of the nice people.
that ban came from me because of all the disrespect and harasment u made to the staff member kinqcake

the system of helpop works fine and the rule have been there for age's
and if people start playing before reading the rules and then breaking them is not our problem.
we are just there to help the people catching hackers and correcting the players.
