»[Rant] Unfair mute, nobody bothers.

Let me set this straight: @The_Urban_Viking muted me, and he said, regarding me as ''bro'' that I'm LUCKY for getting 3 days and this could be mutable for 7 days as well.
Now,
Lets take a look at what I did.

Okay, now lets see the mute.


Swearing sev. 3? What's that? Oh, right: ''being rude (many times) to a player with intent to hurt their feelings...''
I see a problem..
1: didnt say hitler many times, just once
2: didnt say it to a player
3: said it in global chat ONCE
4: my intent wasnt to hurt anyone's feelings, and no feelings were hurt
Ask to yourself, is this really worth 3 days?
This isn't the only unfair mute too, many other people have been unfair muted for petty things, and they have refused to speak up. And if we're on that topic, some people get WAY too many warns before they get a mute. We need consistency.

I really like this server, I really do. This is the only server I play on, and I have invested hours into it. This is probably the reason I have bothered to write this thread in the first place. I was planning to solve this through an appeal, but since nobody of a higher position has bothered to respond and half of the mute tenure has already passed I decided to type up this thread.

 

I didn't mute u for the word "hitler". I muted u for responding to marines "heil" with "hitler". Please promote your nazi sympathy elsewhere.

its not against any rules in the guidlines, lol what more is there to say.

then the upper staff will turn around and basically turn the appeals process into a joke.
I remember the days when mods were expected too post logs in appeals and back up their accusations/judgments with proof; but those days are gone.

you know there was a time when farland churned out staff members quite frequently, now I just plainly advise against the practice.

just do what I do and just /ignore them, while your at it don't buy their wares, and don't play the game with them.

in the end though all it takes is 1 guy with a vendetta against free speech and enough power to do something about it; and you get this.

yeah know in my 2+ years of being here on gc, I have seen oodles of staff come and eventually go.(mods, player admins, global admins, hell even a few head admins)
so this is just a temporary situation/setback.

when you encounter issues regarding being muted, temp banned, or even perma banned; appeal it every time.
dosent even matter if you are just plainly guilty, appeal it.
(those records never go away, and are most used in the selection process regarding promotions, demotions, and other similar situations)

The mute shouldn't be 3 days. it would've been 12 hours for innap language, since when was Hitler a swear word? its a name. Im sure you have the guidelines, follow them to prevent a stuff up like this

 

To the Heil Trump comment Jack told the guy to tone it down a little. I've decided not to interfere with that. I would have muted him for 12 hours if it continued.

"Heil Hitler" that's an obvious racist comment. So 3 day mute.

Yeah that mute might have been a bit too harsh.

Let me give you an example:

I say: "I want all jews"
Someone else says immediatly after: "To be killed"

This is a very easy way of avoiding the gc guidelines.

So the word "hitler" alone is in my opinion not mutable.

Touche. This is a very good point. The mute may be excessive, but I personally understand why the mute was made on grounds of racism.

however i dont think saying hitler should get a 3d mute 12h is more then enough but imo just saying hitler should not be a mute at all its not racist its a name ofcourse it depends on how and when u say it.

He wasnt muted for racism, he was muted for SWEARING.
Also saying "hitler' isn't racism. isn't directed at any race even tho he did kill 6mil jews, its a name.

You made a point, but my case was far different from this. I didn't say that I want the jews to be killed. I didn't say my "hitler" word against a full race of people. So your assumption that every European on the server was offended because I added a "hitler" to marine's "heil" was wrong.
