Alright I am getting tired of this rule, there is new people comming to this server and they talk in spanish or other language. They get ''warn'' and they keep speaking in theyre languages because THEY cant speak or write in english. So they get muted in two hours and they are probaply confuse why they get it and why they cant communicate with others, do you think its fair or no? in my point of view its not fair they just got muted because they cant speak in english.

And here is the asy sayed ''respekt the rules''
    1) why do we need to respekt that rule where people get muted because they cant speak in english?
    2) why do we have to respekt that since everyone can speak ''theyre'' language but they cant on guildcraft?

    Let me know your opinion.

+ sorry for bad gramma :3

    Hey,

Personally I believe we should keep the rule. The reason to this is that most staff members only know English so if people speak in spanish etc they won't understand them. This may lead to them swearing, rule breaking and what not. Also remember that you can /msg or /tell to people in other languages. Anyway, this is just my opinion! =)

    Many regards,
    Snooker

There is very careful wording in the specified rule.

"Only speak English in public chat".

As @Snooker very well explained, we're not able to moderate other languages as our staff are not bi-lingual in every language on the Earth. This practically invites people to bypass our rules. We permit other languages in private messages, party chat and other forms of private communication.

Another reason would be that it would get a bit... well... clumsy and clattered. Imagine six different languages appearing in chat in the same minute; it would be a nightmare to follow the thread of discussion.

Although your suggestion has a good cause behind it however sadly in this current world, we can't all communicate as one efficiently yet that is why we have to impose this rule.

I get it. Thats why there is ''report player'' right? and the other hand ''six defferent languages appearing in chat in the same minut'' I dont get it and why there well be wrong with it,
my opinion today what happend, a danish guy type in puplic chat he/she was probaply a kid, I told him he can only type english in puplic chat. He replays with '' I cant english I can only danish thats it, and why do I have to type in english'' and ofc he got muted for that.

Just think about the server how OTHER people can communicate, like if they needed help for making a faction and they say it in theyre languages, all he well get is a WARN.

And the server could recruit more people from other countrys so they can help them, not just getting a WARN because they speak in theyre languages.

    Again sorry for my gramma.

I agree with this rule. Although it sucks for people who aren't fluent in English, it also sucks for an English-dominant server to have to search through all these other languages.

To be fair, everything on the server (mostly anyways...) is in English, so those who do not know English well should either stay away from public chat, or simply /msg their (non-English) friends :p They have /party chat for groups that want to communicate.

You message them and tell them about it =P If they don't understand them, /msg them in their language saying use /msg when speaking in other languages.

Well that's exactly why the rule is in place. They probably had this discussion and were trying to figure out "HOW do we let them know?". Since there's no one on here that knows every language, it's impossible to warn them in a language they would know, so instead we do the thing we CAN control, which is muting them. It may discourage them from playing the server, but that's one person that is discouraged, rather then 30+ people getting tired of reading random letters mingled together.

I agree with you 110% it sucks for the non-English people.. I too would get mad if someone muted me and didn't tell me why, but that's how it operates here and if you can't understand a language on a server where that language is primary, then perhaps you should relocate. I would never go on a server where it was Chinese and try talking in public chat - it'd be pointless anyways.

Ya well they well just get ''warn'' and dont know what to say or to do,

+ This thingy come up in puplic chat ''reminder speak only in english puplic chat'' they should add more lanuage for that.
    Like into spanish ''

recordatorio de hablar sólo en el chat puplic Inglés'' (Not my language from google translate. So people can see why they get warned and muted.

i guess alot of people get muted for speaking another language just because they don't know the rules or they get warned "use only english in main chat".. well maybe they don't even understand the warn, then they will keep talking in their language until they get muted without knowing the reason. so i guess warns must be translated to the language that they are using like in german "Verwenden Sie nur Englisch im Hauptchat" , spanish "Utilizar sólo inglés en el chat principal"... that can help some people understand the warn, and follow the rule.
    it's just my opinion..

Yeah it would be nice to have a deeper look into this problem, I'm just out of ideas for them. I'm sure if you contacted a higher-up personally and gave him some solutions they would more then likely see what they can do. It's always worth a try :)
