»A possible solution to this 'No other languages' rule?

So, there's a lot of controversy going on about this new rule that says other languages can't be used in public chat. Now please do note that I know nothing (like Jon Snow hehe) about plugins, buying plugins, implementing plugins, coding them or just anything related to them.

So this rule made sense and upset me at the same time. So I googled a few possible solutions and I found that we could solve it with the use of plugins! So I only managed to find 2, but I'm pretty sure someone who knows the proper place to find them, can find plenty.

How to use:

Use /trans change [playername] [languageID] to start talking in that language

• Now whatever you type in chat will be translated into that language!
  
• Example: /trans change Darkstar fr (Everything I say will now be translated into french).
  
• Now if I say hello, it will say bonjour in chat instead
  Use /trans disable [playername] to go back to your default language

This does the exact same thing, but in a different way.



I do understand the purpose of imposing the new rule, but I really think what makes a server top-notch is to support all diversities. And these plugins or even custom made ones ( I know some admins here know coding ) could help bring us all together instead of such rules being imposed.

Like I said, I know nothing about coding so I could be wrong? These could be outdated? If I am, tell me and then an admin can lock this thread. But the main purpose was to tell everyone that there are workarounds to this.

No one has to get muted for being themselves. (unless that's something that's generally inappropriate like swearing).

I think better communication is also needed. Someone who can speak in their language to talk to them to use /msg or /p chat.

I think that it is overall a good idea, since most of the people that talk in other languages on the server are normally only talking to one or two other people. If everybody was informed and knew how to use the command, it would be really good, but language translators aren't always the best and can be off

Great idea, would love to see it happen.

 

Yeah, they can be a little off. But possible advantages outweigh the disadvantages.

 

There translators are not accurate and doesnt translate slangs.

 

English is a global language and must be the main language into GC. Even we do ask for it when we read applications.
Honestly, I prefer a warning for people to speak English.

because sometimes i switch to my language without knowing then i try to talk english then bam *talks in my native language instead of english* *gets a mute*

 

It is not about the race, There is no race that has their only language as "english". If you learned american history the americans and british originated from different countries such as the Netherlands,Germany and Denmark etc. There IS NO race that was originally "white" and only spoke "english". So this is not racist at all that caucasion people have more rights in mc and people who speak spanish. The fact that some hispanics are caucasion litteraly contradicts the statement that hispanics are being muted because they speak spanish(whoever made that stupid statement in chat). Fyi- all the english speakers are obviously mixed with other races.

As well as that, most people who speak spanish in chat live in america and know english(everyone has free education in america. dont make a stupid reason in chat that people in america are too poor for school). Otherwise how did they know english to get in the server and register. If they know english then speak english. They should use some common sense. The server is in english. That means that if they swear in spanish then it clearly means they are trying to avoid mute.

It is also not our job to translate your messages. You translate our messages. As Raghdan said, english is the global language and is the language that every country should know at least a little so you can speak to people who do not speak your native language. Now you want english to be removed? Thats stupid.

edit: in all servers people who speak spanish usually are only talking to another spanish speaker. If they are putting it in public chat why dont they instead /msg or /p each other. What did you say? ANni has no msg? guess what people in skyblock and other servers with msg dont msg each other.

You people who dont know english, YOU go learn english. Its not the staffs jobs to translate your message. WHY should we learn your message if you dont translate OURS??? Alright i get it, in real life its good to be bilingual,trilingual, etc. but this is mc and mc is developed by people who speak englishh. this is not a chinese mmorpg where everything is only in chinese(wait a second how are u able to read english if you dont know english?????) see lies. stop lying that you dont know english and make a post which you were about to do that i couldve used as a reason to prove you know english but i shouldnt be telling you this because now you are obviously not going to be stupid and make that post.)
So if you are one of those spanish speakers reading this then you will either respond back in english(which some of you people who've done that i can recognize from skyblock) or you will not be a retard and not respond at all.

Sorry if i am being a bit rude and weird. Its all about the facts and reasons. No intentional racism or critism but to prove that spanish players indeed know english and use that bad lie as an excuse so that they can only speak spanish

Spanish people who swear are being themselves which is not good. The main reason that aXed added that rule. People dont have the time (are too lazy) to translate. Not their jobs.

 

I can't really understand it(grammar helP that), but please answer this:
What about people that have keyboards that had different letters(Arabic, Mandarin, etc.). Can they convert it to Classical Latin letters/have Classical Latin letters mode?

agree 100%, when i heard about the new rule the other day i said in chat "LOL, that is the dumbest thing i have ever heard". I dont understand why its a problem that others are speaking different languages. Most of the staff know multiple langages anyway so it cant be about swearing in a foreign language.

about that "this is mc and mc is developed by people who speak englishh. this is not a chinese mmorpg " thing, you realize there is a language setting button tochange the game language right, you cant bring al of mc in to this because mc was made for many languages not just english.

They should get rid of this rule, its causing so much arguing and hate in the server
