Hello, I'm atomic_assasin i usually play skyblock but more on survival now and i was asking to my friends on what was happening to the redstone clocks why they just die out and don't even give out signals anymore. That's why i would like to ask if redstone clocks have been limited/disabled in in survival. If it is disabled/limited is the same true with other servers?
Technically they work but after a short perior or long period ( depending on clock type) it deactivates. after that when i right clicked the redstone with a potato this came out "redstone ticks of this block 92/100 ~ 140s to reset"
Redstone clocks kill the server. Obviously you're seeing the output of a plugin that limits the number of times redstone can activate on that block, and gives a timer until the redstone resets and can fire again. Stop using clocks. It's selfish to use so many resources for yourself when others are trying to play on the server too. On many servers an intentional redstone clock is an instant, permanent ban.
I understand it was only one, but there are 40,000 players (last time I checked which was a while ago), what if every player made one clock. There's no server that could handle that. Every player cannot have a clock, so the only fair way is if no one can have a clock. IMO clocks should = ban but the admins decided instead to use plugins. I went into nether a few weeks ago and there was one, just ONE clock running right at /warp nether. It lagged me so badly I could barely move, and I have a good computer and connection. As soon as Cyrus and Itsa disabled the clock, everything was running normally again. Clocks are bad, mmkay?
Clocks is allowed in survival because i use them in my farm at the nether. Tagging some admins and Cyrus to be sure. @aelarmaly @VXDLL @PaddyWagon @CyrusTheVirus1
It was me I disabled my mechanism as soon as I received info about problems. Not sure that clocks aren't allowed generally. At least there is no official info or rule about that for survival server. I'm pretty sure there's a lot more of them arround spawn. Btw to many beacons there (spawn).
The last I knew, someone had learned the way to bypass the anti-clock plugin, and had spread that information to others. Once you understand how the plugin works, it's easy to bypass. When that happened, I heard the problem was being worked on, unfortunately whenever I've asked any survival staff about redstone clock issues in the past, none of them understood the plugin well enough to answer my questions. The only answer was "it's a plugin, we have no control over it". I don't think the plugin is even enabled on survival right now. You could test it, just put a loop of redstone and repeaters and fire it once, you should get some signs that break the redstone.
