»Permanently Banning Hackers

I believe that GuildCraft really does need to start permanently banning hackers. Hacking is a no-no and should be taken seriously -- because nobody likes to play in a server with hackers. If people hack and get temporarily banned, they just show up again a few days later just to hack again and it goes on. The whole point of banning someone is to give them a punishment.

As an example, consider hacking to be the worst crime in Minecraft (like murder in real life). If someone murdered someone that person is given a life sentence in jail, not a week. In the same sense, it's really not fair to leave criminals on the server because that makes the jobs of mods more stressful and makes it difficult for players to enjoy in the server.

There are some amazing gamemodes in this server, but if the hackers just keep coming back, who'd wanna play?
My suggestion is this:

For the first time someone is caught hacking, give them a temporary ban for a lengthy period of time as a warning. If they hack again after that, then they get a permanent ban -- cause you know they'll just break the rules again.

If this it too complicated, permanently banning at the start would be the best option. There are many players in GuildCraft and we don't have place for hackers, I feel like we are losing more players due to hackers than we are from banning people.

It's about time people start taking the GuildCraft rules seriously. I am definitely convinced that if this change is made the GuildCraft community will become safer and more enjoyable. This really is an important thing that needs to happen in GuildCraft, especially after the recent influx of hackers.

True I think this is really important cause I'm really tired of hackers just coming back each time. If we want hackers to stop hacking, we need to permanently ip-ban them.

 

They can change ip...

 

I think we should give the hacker a chance. Second ban = perm ban is better.

 

PvP Hackers should be straight up banned, they are litterley the worst!
If it's a farming or a building hack in some way, I don't have a problem with them even grtting five chances...

 

Most of them are probably too lazy for that

Umm .. this thread is funny, 3 bans then its perm banned.

 

We give the hacker a temporarily ban. Each hack is different. For example: KillAura is a 10 day ban, so if someone got banned 2 times for KillAura, the third ban would be perm. Because it's a heavy ban.
These are the rules, we (admins) have to follow them. If you wanna be an admin, apply for mod and work on your way for admin and if you saw any hacker, you would make a report with a video. so he would get a ban if he was hacking.
Some people learn and some don't. Rules are rules. Take it or leave it.
