»Guildcraft factions for more admins,

This has been a large issue for a long time, and its the activity of current staff, Beyond inactive, while the entire server is full of hackers, alot of people quit due to the fact that the server just ISNT fun anymore due to the fact that its largely hacker based with no admins and autoban that dosnt catch "all" clients,

its funnier to say that the "current person" that does his job keeping factions hacker free isn't even a admin, The only person i actually see online is tibo442 , i've hardly seen any other admins and when i have its been for about 5 mins talking to friends then they are off,

like myself is toxic mainly because this staff issue is just ... awful, All i do myself is pvp all day everyday, and seeing how many hackers there is during pvp is just no fun.... honestly need more staff or active ones...

 

I think that we can all agree that Factions needs more Admins, or that the Admins there should be more active. However...

To promote a Mod or Helper to Admin is simply a gigantic step and shouldn't be rushed, an Admin holds great power (and I tend to say this because it isn't as simple as 'getting an Admin'), it takes months of experience, only someone truly prepared for it should be promoted.

I get that Factions is crawling with hackers and that it needs help, but we shouldn't go out promoting anyone that is up for it, it could only lead to a greater disaster.

Reporting hackers using the Forums or with /report always helps. Aside from that, the Auto-Ban could be upgraded to catch hackers in a more effective way, humans can't work as fast as machines.

 

Such close some games and go changing every day.
It is true that you can create some misunderstanding, but we can minimize the number of hackers because it will be a greater number of staff per game.

I tend to agree on this, but as you know we cant be online all the time.
Im admin on 5 servers and mod on 2. I am test-admin on factions so I dont have much time to be there (1-2h) pr day.
I try my best to ban hackers and I know its annoying for you that there is a lot of them.
We that is admins on factions are also admins on other servers so dont expect us to be online all the time.

Beside so far I know we only got 1 mod left. Since we have to control chat, hackers (spend a lot of time dealing with x-rayer) and people that spam you with bunch of questions. Its hard to get all around and thats why me miss some cheaters.

 

how to recognize hackers?

 

Hacks are usually used to gain a unfair advantage and most of the time they are easy to see, there are a lot of hacks, but these are the primary:

- Xray, so you can know the location of ores and other player's positions.

- Killaura, to gain a unfair PvP advantage.

- Fly, you know it.

- Anti-Knockback, so sword hits or bow shots don't make you move.

These are just some of them.

I hope you're being sarcastic. There was a thread asking for /kick to be available for mods and they denied it still.

I agree, there have been an increase of hackers at faction originals at the moment. I try my best to be as active as possible and I'm usually on 2-3 hours a day. You have to remember that staff have lives outside of Minecraft but I agree on your point that there should be something done to fix this problem. Whether that is to increase the number of admins or improve the anti-cheat.

Too easy to be abused. Considering a lot of staff newer staff are randoms. Not to mention that there were mods lying in their staff app. leaving head admins even less trust in their mods. Imo staff apps need to be more strict.

 

most of the staff have potato pc's. They can just abuse it and get demoted but it was still a problem to players getting banned. You need proof for kick as well but it's been taken away cause of easy abuse.

The only other guys left for admin are: @Fone_bone and @RP39 .. and well, myself .. i'm still a mod [All 3 of us are North Americans] so i guess i still have a long way to go. I, myself am frustrated by this issue, but there's nothing we can do about it when @Tenderman does not receive applications that are up to the mark.

Honestly most of the people that play factions and know how it works, could be a good staff (since they know everything most likely) But they dont know how to keep their history clean. So try apply yourself and see how well you will do. if you even have all the requirements. pro not.

Agreed we need more Admins, hackers are annoying, but its not easy if some staff have diff time zones, or are staff on other servers, hackers everywhere Admins go everywhere !

 

Maddog is the most trusted person on this server imo. He would be a great addition to the server!

It is an issue but we cant have unworthy players getting staff. Keep applying and the admins will make the right choice.
