So I was playing some Hide & Seek and I noticed that there is currently no way to check the rules in-game, the only way to see them is by going to the website. Rules are incredibly important in order to preserve order, maybe as important as the authorities themselves. Now, most people don't care about rules, but there are people who do care about it and would wish to see them in a practical manner, but let's be real here, no one cares about rules enough to go to the site to see it. And this problem is not only in one server, but in 11 servers! Here's the complete list. Spoiler Eggwars, Hide & Seek, Team-Build Battle, UHC, PotionPvP, Survival Games, Annihilation, KitPvP, OITC, BuildBattle, Skywars Now, this is a more serious issue than it looks like, a server without rules is incredibly chaotic and disappointing for anyone honest trying to simply play GC. Let's say you're a newcomer, there's no way to actually prevent you from breaking the rules since you don't know about them in the first place, which leads to innocent people getting muted, banned and overall increasing chaos in the server. My suggestion to fix this is to add a '/rules' command or a board of signs in all servers warning new players about the rules, if the first decision was accepted, there would be an announcement every 5 minutes warning players to do /rules. If you really want to take this further, there could be '/rules' of various languages, so no matter your language, you could still see it. For example, I'm brazilian, so I could make the '/rules portuguese'! In the end, there would be '/rules Portuguese, English, Russian, Spanish' for everyone to see! This suggestion would make a decent impact regarding rule breakers and I hope that it gets accepted. Tagging some people and even the True High King himself; @Juzzy_ @geoarisfc @Inferno @Raghdan @aXed tldr; There's currently no way to check in-game rules on 11 servers and this causes a decent amount of chaos, my suggestion is to add a /rules command which shows all the rules or a sign in the spawn which shows all the rules to newcomers.
This suggestion's sole purpose is to help GC regarding rule breakers and I won't let it die, bump. Tagging @YashP @HenryrocksMC
No one really reads them anyway tbh. We have one over at Skygrid, I doubt even half the players have read it. It's really an inno suggestion though and could make a difference in the behavior of the people who read it +1
As I said before, you're right, only a small percentage of people actually read the rules; but there are people out there which would like to see them and know what is actually forbidden and what's not. It would decrease the amount of chaos in-game, even if by a little, coding it would be extremely easy since it is simply some lines and even if players don't read it, we have to determine the existence of rules in our server, we need to make sure they know there are rules, otherwise they'll do whatever they find cool. Something that is currently not working well on those servers I mentioned before.
